Midgar in FF XIV, (Dawntrail spoilers)

So I've been thinking on how Midgar and the Shinra Electric Power Company could be introduce in 14. With what we learn about Alexandria and Electrope. Do you think that both Midgar and the Shinra Electric Power Company should be in the 9th shard like Alexandria was?

It would make sense since Shinra is an 'Electric Power Company'. But that is just a thought that came and wonder if it can work.

I'd rather they lean away from just taking ideas from other FF's for a while, a nice original story would be good. Plus, I don't think we are at the panic mode they need to break the FF7 glass just yet

Yea, i can see the resemblance between Shinra and Garlemald. Even thinking that they will ad some 7 elements in Garlemald in a future expansion.

I've been saying this since 7.0, but Everkeep from the outside looks like Midgar from outside as well.

You cannot convince me that the devs aren't testing out the technical limitations of introducing a city such as Midgar and how it will be perceived by the players outside.

Although as others mentioned, I'd really prefer if SE starts introducing original content and stories again which FFXIV will be remembered for, rather than taking ideas and replicating the stories of other mainstream games.

I've always seen Garlemald as just a straight-up FF6 reference. Empire out to conquer the continent, Magitek everywhere, etc..

The earlier parts of the new dungeon did remind me of the collapsed expressway from 7. Don't think it's unreasonable for there to be a region inspired by another FF game being in the same shard, at least.

Doesn't make sense since the 9th is based on FF9 and Midgar is from FF7.
