"I'm not really an expert when it comes to graphics" - your words. Absolutely every game engine ever will load only one single copy of a texture that is shared by multiple objects. It's basic, fundamental stuff.

Then go ahead and try it yourself. Blacklist them one by one and see how your VRAM used goes down drastically by around 400MB-500MB. You cant tell me a halfnaked vanilla character takes more than 20MB of your vram.




Even my FPS has improved from 30-45 back to 70-90 after blacklisting all of them. So yes.. this guy is the sole reason why the performance of my PC is tanking in limsa. This will ofc not last for long with this guy creating new alts every hour.

Noone here said a CPU and GPU are the same. I even mentioned my CPU+GPU combination on that post with the FPS examples. Not every CPU comes from Intel and is named i5,i7 ect.
Thats not even the point of this thread. While we were trying to make a point over something not related to this post this guy created another 10-15 alts and placed them left and right of the aetheryte.
Atm I can count ~75 weebopolice bots and maybe ~40 "normal" players gathered around the aetheryte. This is an issue. I'm not really an expert when it comes to graphics but knowing the average character has around 10k-15k polygons we can only assume this half naked botarmy has probably 7k-10k polygons per character and 595k+ in total.(7k*75= 595k)
For comparison, a fully rendered FFXIV map has around 300k-600k polygons. This guy alone is basically making you render whole new map on top of Limsa and the "normal" players which can end up being an issue for your CPU, GPU and RAM. We could argue about lowering the settings again but is it really worth considering with the game running perfectly fine without him?

Oh so the people using plugins for PVP, Gathering, Crafting ect are not doing something wrong or why are they not getting banned?
Unless its something chat related SE is very slow when it comes to banning people.

I mean. "My frame rate dipping because many characters are in one location!" isn't valid grounds to report somebody you dislike. So...... Unless you have proof of actual harassment.....

He’s standing idle and is not even half as bad as the cacophonous bards (at least there’s a mute function) and dancing groups you can find on some other servers. Some servers have even more people in Limsa...

You are right. Its not a reason to report people because there are too many. That would be stupid.
But a single person logging in 100+ free trial accounts and letting them idle for 2 weeks straight on a already congested datacenter is a whole nother story. Let alone its done with some kind of third party program because no normal consumer brick on earth could handle 100's of xiv clients.

He was letting 100's of characters idle there for weeks. Thats imo worse compared to a 10-Man Bardband that moves on to another server after 2-3 hours.


Apparently it was an issue. SE took actions and the bots are gone.

It would be a funny bit with a couple characters, but there's no "roleplay" reason to make >200 bots, that serves no function except to evade being blacklisted
