    WHM - Needs - Right Now

    Removel of "Free Cure"

    Trait - Turns Cure = Cure II
    Trait - Medica = Medicia II = Medica III
    Trait - Ciure 3 = Cure 4 - Increased Radius to 15 yalms with 500+ potency increase
    Protect = Temperance - Level15
    Assize - 2 Stacks (more MP Regen cooldown reduced to 40 seconds
    Benediction - 2 Stacks
    Enchanced Surecast - Cooldown reduction (2 stacks)
    Aquaveil - 12 Seconds instead of 8 and 18% dmaage reduction
    Divine Bansion - 800 Potency Shield - with 10% damage reduciton


    Pressense of Mind Mastery - Also makes Dia turn into Diaga watch aoe damage over time effect watch stacks with dia (classic aero III)
    Holy/Holy 2/holy 3 potency increased to 250-310 at max level aoe with 5 second stun instead of 4 seconds
    Raise > Arise - no longer has a casttime is ogcd. with a 10 cooldown with a 30 second raise sickness. and gives them 5 second invurablity with a strong healing over time effect added after raising after being brought back to life white mage now have best raise in the whole game

    A lot of stuff sounds crazy but diaga is an awesome idea. Giving white mage 0 cast time 10second ogcd res is interesting. Red mage's resurrection proficiency made stronger does fit white mage thematically. The game doesn't require enough healing in casual content for white mage to need even more raw healing power and I feel like it needs to be buffed via a 2 minute raid buff like astro and scholar. Make sage the selfish dps healer lol. I'd like a more interesting damage rotation too. At least make the visuals for glare change each cast. Free cure/cure 1 should have been reworked/removed years ago.

    At least make raise one button instead of three buttons. Thin Air should just be a trait for raise, and you might as well combine swiftcast too since that's pretty much all it's used for.

    When there's still some use cases outside the most common one I'd much rather not lose those options. I still use it on CureIII/MedicaIII (and Lost Seraph Strike) fairly often.
    Swiftcast's a role skill so I don't think they can just fold it into a skill from a specific job's kit, but I wouldn't be against them just adding an instant cast effect to Thin Air.

    I love how this is all technically improvements to the job but also does absolutely nothing to actually make WHM a desirable pick

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    Yeah but that's partially because for most of their classes SQEX steadfast refuses to even nail down what playing this class is supposed to mean. And importantly not just in stylistic or even gameplay choices, but for the players around you, your strengths and weaknesses. And these have to be non-trivial, so that you genuinely find some situations easier and some tougher with this person around. Of course they're supposed to be equivalent, but only in total impact.

    So like, if WHM is supposed to be "I bring the top raw output of the healers", then that has to be meaningfully more output. And not just in healing, though this is a secondary issue caused by a lack of healing-need, otherwise this'd be enough already. 20%, 25%, even more maybe, that's the level of difference in both healing and damage output where "I do more output" can start to meaningfully matter on a healer. And where it can make up for strong unique effects on other healers, too. And the unique downside could also derive from that: "that's it". Higher output, by a significant degree. No fancy auto-heals, no reactive procs, no nothing. Big badaboom is all you do. But it also automatically means that no other healer has remotely your level of raw healing or damage output.

    I've always thought the Free Cure Trait should have made Cure Instant Cast and cost 0 MP to use. As we become more adept with healing it makes sense for the most basic spell we have to be easier to use over time. Having a spell that's always available for free and can be used while moving would be wonderful and have zero effect on game balance besides helping WHM with its obnoxious MP economy in ARR.

    I do agree that Freecure should be removed.
    But not that Cure 1 should be removed, it's extremely situational after like level 50, as Medica 2 + Regen covers most healing needs. But you do occasionally do come across tanks that have all the durability of wet paper and need constant heal spam or they drop dead instantly.

    I would go a long way to rework WHM's main attack attack, keep the Stone spells all the way to 100, and have a trait that lets every spell have a chance to grant Sacred Sight to use Glare spells, in the same style of BRD's Straight Shot (Hawk's Eye).
