I Want to Thank the Devs for All Saints Wake

After doing the event this year, I immediately had to hop onto the forums (where I normally just lurk), to tell the devs "Thank you!" for the event. I've been playing over 5 years now, and while they've done some cool events in the past (I remember an old dressed up dungeon for one All Saints Wake, much akin to this), I noticed that a lot of time went into crafting the updated Manor for the holiday. It also looked like Gridania was more decorated than the hub towns usually are.

I am super grateful about this. My annoyance with holidays in the game is that it's often an event with very minimal decor, a quick one and done quest. While I think this could still be improved upon (I would implore more immersive decorations throughout the hub areas - imagine Gridania fully covered in snow during Starlight), I could feel the care that went into this event in particular.

I hope the devs see it's appreciated and I hope we continue to get such efforts moving forward.

I picked my small house location specifically to be closer to the holiday decorations in Empyreum, so I know how you feel. I'd love for them to, now that we have the graphical update, go back and add more decorations to the hubs and residential zones. I have some hope since they've been doing that with the permanent items in the hubs. That, and let me buy some Christmas trees and snow pines with gil please Square! Glad you like the story! I'm finding the seasonal stories to be enjoyable as well.

Seeing the giant tree in the Lavender Beds turn a bright red/orange to go with seasonal decor would be phenomenal.

Other than that it's pretty much the same copy-paste they've had for several years.

It would be amazing if they could do that… like maybe something for the neighborhoods that doesn’t affect anything within the boundaries of the plots, but all the outside trees change with the seasons, and snow falls on the ground when it’s snowing, etc.

I live behind Yainu-Par so I always enjoy seeing the decor change for all the holidays. Adding that extra bit would make it even better.

Not to be "that" guy but I'm pretty sure it's the same manor they introduced in the 2016 All Saints wake, IIRC?

Personally I really miss when seasonal events had specific fates and their own currency that you had to work toward to buy the goodies.

These days it's really just "do the quest > finish the quest > get all the rewards".
It's not fun...

I remember when you entered the manor as a party of 4 and had complete tasks for cookies to trade in for the rewards. I miss that.

2021 (which happened in 2022) was when Papa Gruff was introduced and he was pure evil for two events.

Gruff had his "conversion" in 2023.

And now it seems the Continental Circus is "reformed"

I blame Zero.

Given that we have allies in the thirteens with Golbez and Zero, saw a whole bunch of "innocent ones there" and are now actively working in restoring their world, I think it's high time the game stopped using them as that evil thing.
Treading them like "creepy, shaky allies" is more in line imo.

I think the biggest problem people have and which I agree with, is that the whole world has lost its teeth and feels a bit too much "all are best friends" nowadays.
I don't expect them to adress that in an event and frankly would be annyoed if we were still antagonistic towards the voidsent while having totally forgiven others.

Event had a sweet story and at least tried to implement more gameplay instead of only having cutscenes.
I don't mind the story being short but I would have liked more to do like the dungeon we had years ago to grind currency.
The areas and all are nice but I think an MMO should have more.

It's "average" i think.
Above previous events that are only talking but below older ones that had us truly do something.
I don't know if it's time, budget or creativity but after Yoshida's statement of wanting to put more effort into events, I personally expect better.
