Suggestion: Holiday/Rare Furniture Replicator

(This Replicator is just for the use of Holiday, Quest Specific, Mog Station and other types of furniture that is either currently unobtainable, or obtainable by rare means such as quests/missions, bought from the Mog Station, etc.)

(The actual appearance and name of this Replicator does not matter)

How it works:
- When Replicator is used, a list of greyed out furniture items appears.
- To store furniture items you trade into the Replicator and it stores that image, the text turns white forever for that item to indicate this. (You no longer need to hold on to this item in your inventory if you so choose)
- To remove a furniture item you select a name of an item you previously turned in and another option box will appear asking you to select the amount of that item you would like. (only 1 item is needed to store it's image, infinite items can be replicated from it)
- Holiday/Rare furniture cannot be sold on the Market Board or to an NPC to avoid using this method to farm infinite Gil.
- The Replicator is just a physical representation furniture item, stored item list is actually stored on personal client info. (removing the replicator furniture does not delete any progress in the list of acquired furniture items)
- Another option if unable to have the Replicator as a furniture: The Replicator can work in a similar fashion to the Glamour Dresser and only be available for use inside the Inn Rooms.

Benefits:
- Bigger incentive for decorating houses for holidays.
- Increase in inventory space due to ability to store holiday/rare furniture.
- Infinite copies of holiday/rare furniture.
- Incentive for collectors to acquire items they might not otherwise.
- Decrease instances of lost holiday/rare furniture due to loss of housing, taken by FC members, tossed out accidentally, etc.
- Incentive to buy Mog Station exclusive or not longer available furniture. (controversial depending on perspective)

These are my personal suggestions and opinions. All are welcome to include their own thoughts, opinions and suggestions. We all want FFXIV to be the best version of itself it can be.

I can't decorate my house for the holidays.Because all my slots are used up for just the house itself. So would be nice to get even a temporary bump for the holidays

They should just let us use the system Island Sanctuary has with needing only one furnishing and you could duplicate the rest. That would save me hundreds of slots in my storage and allow me to decorate my homes in new ways.

I agree with this notion; I disagree with the idea of circumvention of the cash shop by essentially just generating as many seasonable items you want.

IMO once you purchase the item (ONCE) it should be unlocked and able to be purchased at the Housing merchant for gil as it was when the event was ongoing.

20+$ USD for a few pumpkins is excessive.

I do agree with you and this is a great idea. Something similar had crossed by mind when suggesting the holiday/rare furniture replicator.

However, I don't think this is a realistic ask. First off, the Island Sanctuary uses only outdoor furnishings so from a developer's perspective it wouldn't make sense that it would duplicate indoor furniture as well. Second, of all the duplicated furniture can only be used in Island Sanctuary and duplicated items are not taken outside of it. Third, let's say it could do unlimited duplication of all furniture, this would totally wreck the furniture crafter/gatherer economy and I don't think that's something that developers would do.

Let's say they add a duplicating system inside the actual houses (I'm assuming that's what you are suggesting here). Again, this would destroy the furniture market board economy. Would this be something developers would be willing to do?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Island Sanctuary is the best way to do things either. I have a lot of opinions regarding how Island Sanctuary works and how that could be better as well but that's off the current subject.

Limiting the duplication to just holiday and rare furniture would be a great start due to the rarity of these items and more freedom to use them in greater quantities.

Again, yours is a great idea and I like it. It would be wonderful to only need one type of a furniture. However, in my personal opinion I just don't think it's currently a realistic ask with the unintended outcomes it might have. I could be wrong, this is all speculating of course.

Id be willing to buy more, but things like the cherry tree are a pricey investment for just one.

Oh gods I hear you...Christmas decorations always break the bank. I should reiterate. I think that once you own 1 cash shop housing item - you should be able to buy more for gil from the calamity vendor and of course - make them non-tradable even via storage.
