without fun jobs none of the content is fun!
jobs should have their full rotations on lvl 60 or 70! for a better low lvl experience.
for satisfying glam builduing we need 5 basic glamplates + 2 more for each class / job
pls give us a proper glam collection like every other mmo has.
pls upgrade the gear from normal raid and also alliance-raid by 10 ilvl each.
pls add old glowy ex trial weapons for new jobs!
and for gods sake pls give as the ability to preview any hairstyle on our own character!
Have you even done the fight? Guardian Arkveld is far more like an FF14 fight than Rathalos was. Sure, a lot of its attacks are telegraphed by how the boss moves, but this is nothing new to FF14. DDR-style dodging mechanics? This is FF14's entire gameplay.
I've also played a lot of Monster Hunter, and at no point do I remember having to deal with a Limit Cut mechanic.
FFXIV has always been about reading cues in some way, shape or form. From Nael's dialogue cue to visual cues on Shiva EX sword/staff/bow to name just a few, it progressively became more cast bar focused. DT has just decided to return visual cues to us (we always had manticores, for instance) and make the mechanics return from 0.5x speed to 1x speed. Complaining about this is strange.
And nearly none of the new non-savage mechanics are ones that are truly "gotcha mechanics" the way OP described. Most things are very, painfully predictable. Let me spell it out: The latest story trial has no mechanics we have not seen before. The getting yeeted thing was in Phantom Train, nobody should be surprised by this unless you miraculously decided to skip an entire raid series for... some reason. The slap animation is intuitive: I'm obviously not gonna go stand on the side that glows ominously. Come on. The circles are nothing new, the in/out stuff is extremely nothing new, the boss telegraphing stuff and making you memorize a couple things is not, and will never be, difficult. What else... conal tankbuster. Nothing new. Baiting targeted AoEs is also not new. Raidwides, you may have guessed, aren't new. Bosses changing arenas aren't new. The dungeon was so forgettable it's hard to even remember any mechanic... but since people in my roulettes sucked on the last boss, again, it's just a different looking indicator for the same stuff we've seen for years. Shinryu's charge is the same as Temporary Current from Leviathan (E3) is Algedon from Zodiark.... and the lightning lines on the new dungeon's last boss are the same principle, just another indicator.
What I'm trying to politely say is... skill issue.
Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.
idk, felt like any other boss. Boss flapping his big left arm, and a big left cleave appears. nothing here was new or a gotcha
And yet 90% of the Playerbase is to dumb and bad for the "DDR-Style Dodging Mechanic"Have you even done the fight? Guardian Arkveld is far more like an FF14 fight than Rathalos was. I have no done the fight yet. I specifically wrote in the OP that I got to think about the original crossover and how it's spread over everything else in terms of design philosophy.Have you even done the fight? Today and for two or three expansions definitely for sure. Thus this thread. And countless others about it.DDR-style dodging mechanics? This is FF14's entire gameplay.
Yes to all.

I'm so freakin' tired of Monster Hunter.
Yoshi P, please find a new IP. I did not have fun at all.

I hope the devs are listening. We need the devs to please listen.

Ugly rewards, Another parasol. Direct 1:1 ported models and skeletons for the mount. Fight is easier than Rathalos because the telegraphs are even more obvious and there's no delayed snapshotting. Crazy.
Gee billy. SE took longer to produce this patch than MHWilds did to create Omega and the former STILL got it horribly wrong? I wonder how that could be.....
At least wilds-.... no, wait, that's bad too. Worst monster hunter title in the franchise. Most refunded title. Least optimized title -- to the point it's up for "Worst Optimized Game of the Year" reward.
It's a perfect match.

Find it weird that the only thing that you really need to run EX for is the augmented weapons because the mount has a low drop chance on normal. (And the mount can also be sold on the market board) And the augmented can't even be dyed and don't look any different from the normal ones.
I mean, another way to get weapons I suppose.
