How is a party of 8 warriors throwing 2 tomahawks each "contributing" more than a solo player doing actual damage? It's basically impossible to get full credit if nobody joins your group.

I think (and I could be wrong I'm no pro) it's because tanks generate enmity.
You *can* get solo credit when you play tank though so.
Through twilight, we endure.
I tried, the most you can realistically get is 60% of the credit unless it's a *very* slow hunt.

Contribution is based on enmity generation. A full party of tanks is going to outperform anything else.

I've seen healers spam aoe healing in n a party just for the enmity gain. It really is an awful system where a single Holy and then Cure 3 spam counts for more contribution than a DPS actually helping to kill the hunt mark. Quality of life updates have always been embarrassingly slow in this game. Look how long it took Phoenix Down to become useful. It would make sense for Hunt kill contribution to be counted differently at some point but it's probably low on the devs priority list right now.
