You have 5s of invulnerability after taking teleporters. Run to the middle toward where your team supposedly is and ignore whoever is camping. If for some reason all of your team is coming from the porter, then your team suddenly has a huge advantage against campers due to the invuln timer and will overwhelm them to death. If for some reason your team isn't mid when you port up, then that's a situational awareness issue.

I got a really dumb question... is it possible for me to use that 5s to jump off and survive. I feel like I will most likely be dead but doesn't hurt asking.

I haven't tried but if it's anything like class invuln skills then no, it wouldn't prevent you to die from fall damage (true damage, green star damage type icon).
