How you imagine yourself in 2027 in XIV what are your plans?

Levelling Tank classes for now. I'd been hesitant to try Tanking as it's not a playstyle I generally enjoy, but decided to bite the bullet at give it a try.

Started with Paladin, and currently at level 55:

And quite enjoying it so far, although I suspect I'll struggle at the higher-levels.

I hope you end up enjoying PLD, I find it's a Job that gets overwhelmingly better at fairly high levels, specifically 82 and up is the breakpoint, when you get Holy Shieltron, and at level 84 with Divine Magic Mastery II, I find it can feel lacking until then, but once you hit those points it shifts from my most disliked Tank to one of my most beloved Jobs period.

I have a lot of things that I want to do. The majority of them are around Savage and Ultimates, but also like Eureka, Criterion, relics, deep dungeons, and fishing (maybe...).

If I am bored or not enjoying my time probably unsubbed and playing something else.

At the current rate? Same way I spent most of Dawntrail. Not subbed and maybe popping in occasionally with free login campaigns.

nah tank is fairly easy now, if its like your first time running your dungeon as a tank just drop a quick line in chat letting people know and majority times they are cool. It really spin to win to maintain aggro, use your mitigations and follow your rotation. Paladin is the easiest to learn, followed by warrior, gunblade, then dark since its like the squishest.

Hopefully not getting burnt out by another Savage static either being overly sensitive or the raid lead scheduling a marriage 3 months in advance and skipping a month and a half of raid time. Or another raid lead ghosting us after making excuses to not raid for 2 months.

Congrats! I was also nervous when I started tanking, but I found it a lot easier than my healer anxiety. As the tank, the party has a vested interest in keeping you alive! lol Rather than healing and feeling the weight of the responsibility to keep everyone else alive! GNB is my go-to when I tank because it just feels more DPS-like to me.

It's a bit daunting to think its going to be that long before we see the next expansion. However, I am willing to wait because the last time the team had that much time to pour into the final product we had 1.X into 2.0 and it was like comparing night and day, and they had to rush that! Imagine what they might be capable of if they had proper time to develop the next chunk. Though I honestly hope the lead up to the next chapter of FFXIV is something truly iconic... akin to the 'End of an Era' if possible.
I'll be sad if there's no real major story content in the mean time, but I will understand and likely spend my time playing New Game+ or starting an all new character to mess around with. I'll probably also dabble in other games or hobbies while I wait.
