Eh, we have an entire housing forum dedicated to their complaints, tho. Also, I can't ever see them adding the tome vendors in even the inn since it would make the entire final hub empty, and it would look bad to new players.

Why are housing so expensive. For a game feature it seems very prohibitive. I could understand when there were only companies who could afford housing. Now there are many who can buy them for personal use. Everyone should have their own house now in the city they wish to add it. If you want a bigger house then make people pay for it.
Instead of making housing such a niche enterprise, why not add it as a selling point to the game. Even Wow will be giving all players housing in the next expansion.
I would be very happy if I never needed to visit S9 again.
I don't understand as the smallest plot is only 3-4m gold not including the actual permit if you won it. Where does the gil go if you're at endgame and can't spare 3m?Why are housing so expensive. Are you familiar with the concept of money sinks in MMOs? it's type of feature that exists purely to remove money from the economy and therefor reduce inflation, usually those features are seen as luxuries, which is what housing is in FFXIV. This is the goal of housing in FFXIV, it's not a great one purely because of availability, but if the system allowed them to remove upwards to 45-50 million from the economy per character, it would be pretty good.
I think this was a long long time ago too, so it might be that they gave up on it because of hardware limitations (staring at old ass consoles being supported back then) and just never got around to it again. Considering they might be dropping PS4 at some point, it could be a good time to see if they can untangle some of the spaghetti keeping the game together.I wish i could implement stuff, said oops crashed server, and cancel the feature. They could do it if they wanted to, they just chose not to bother. They could also do some middle ground and make some idk 'stylist' house in each ward, so we don't have to teleport to an in and back bc a glam needs to be fixed.
Someone suggested adding a mini "dressing room" type of instance you can access from your house which would have the glamour dresser to alleviate issues arising from people manipulating the dresser from the housing menu while someone is using it, but I'd honestly just rather have it in the same way we have retainer bells and armoires.
I think having a "boutique" type of building like you said would be nice middle ground too, so apartments can also access it!
Yes, but not really? I personally would never set foot on those towns if I could grab my stuff from, say, my apartment, but that's just because I'm never there to begin with. Those who like to hang out in the max level areas will likely continue to do so, either because they like the area itself or because they like to see other max level players around but don't wanna go to Limsa. I don't think things would change much, tbh.
Housing has always been a gil sink from its inception. It was designed as something for rich legacy players to dump their gil on and hopefully even out the playing ground for players who joined after the release of ARR. To SE, housing is simply a random side thing they add a feature or two every blue moon, pretty much... I do wish it was a bigger part of the game, because it has a ton of potential. Why are housing so expensive. For a game feature it seems very prohibitive. I personally wouldn't trust WoW until I see what they actually release. I haven't played it myself, but I heard they have a reputation for making big promises and barely delivering in the end. They also have the advantage of seeing everything XIV did wrong and simply making a system that is not burdened by whatever is wrong with SE's code, so there's that to... we'll see when we can actually play it.
But there is a huge limitation on how many houses there are available. One house had 97 contestants in the last round.
It's a world based problem.
Currently there's 160 plots open on Phoenix, this includes smalls - large.
Other worlds there are way more unoccupied, thus they (SQE) do not see the problem.
Through twilight, we endure.
Of course housing is more plentiful on nearly-empty DCs. If you have a character there, you can probably get a house, due to lack of other players competing to buy one.
But you'll seldom be able to queue for or run content while you're "home," due to lack of players to play with.
I just don't understand why SE doesn't get this or care about it.
WAR don't get changes because they don't need changes. They only need more enemies to cleave.
