Housing Feedback and Why The Excuse?

I’ve been playing the game for a long time and I had a house for a bit but didn’t own it for too long because irl and stuff.I love the vendors you can put in there so you don’t have to go out of your house and just stay there if you want.My feedback and question is,why hasn’t there been a tombstone vendor that access poeticts and current tomestone stuff as well?It’ll make housing more tempting for a lot of players because they have to stay sub or lose the house and that’s something Yoshi won’t change EVER.I have to say that when it comes to quality of life improvements in the game,ffxiv lacks so much that mods improve what the devs are too lazy to do themselves while they keep giving the players coping responses which I don’t fall for.

We really need the ability to place a glamour dresser. I have a house, I shouldn't need to leave and go rent an inn room just to change my clothes.

they've brought it up before that they don't really want players to stay locked up in their homes but to also experience the open world an build community but i do agree there are some things they could do to vastly improve player housing. one of which for me being instanced housing for solo players and for existing plots to have bigger item placement increases so houses dont feel so bare an empty.

They said that they tried it once and interacting with the dresser would immediately crash the test server. After that, they just gave up on the idea.

I wish i could implement stuff, said oops crashed server, and cancel the feature. They could do it if they wanted to, they just chose not to bother. They could also do some middle ground and make some idk 'stylist' house in each ward, so we don't have to teleport to an in and back bc a glam needs to be fixed.

Yeah that's such an absurd explanation. "we tried to implement something and IT CRASHED THE TEST SERVER". Can you imagine the TEST server, CRASHING? We can't debug things that don't work right away. Hands are tied

I really don't understand why this game has such bizarre limitations like this. I wish they would just overhaul this system so we could at the very least know what's in our glamour dresser without visiting the inn room at the beginning of each gameplay session.

Ideally we would be able to access this system from anywhere, without actually needing to interact with an in game item, as quaint as that is.

lol what a lame excuse. That ship sailed long ago when they put in an aggresive duty/party finder, teleports to absolutely everywhere, nothing interesting in the open world and decided to only add content that can be easily pug'd and only lasts 3 months tops. You can't make a game that doesn't demand cooperation or community and then say you can't do something because you want your players to cooperate and build community.

Guess they shouldn't have scrapped the original director's dream of open world housing. lol

IIRC it was when someone moved the dresser while another player was interacting with it - a problem easily solved by making it immovable while in use.
