Why is FFXIV Mobile getting better cosmetics than PC?

i just had seen this and i am not happy whatsoever.

i understand that these are two "separate" games, with separate developers and two different means of making their money, but what?



this is the exact kind of hair that players in the standard game have been BEGGING for. instead we always get (subjectively) the same sorts of ugly short bobs and things. people have been wanting more long hair for years!

i understand that the mobile game is making all of their money off of cash shop or whatever their equal is, but we should be getting cosmetics like this as well in our subscription based game.

i am tired of this trend. i am a league of legends player as well, and if you know about the game wild rift, they have the same issue. wild rift is always getting much higher quality cosmetics than PC. please don't let this be something that happens to FFXIV as well.

Like you said, they are separate games with separate developers.

A lot of restrictions and constraints that the main game has are imagined. Like how Luke thinks using the force is impossible in Star Wars ESB. I believe they wouldn't even deny that some of the restrictions are due to arbitrary, self-imposed polygon limits they have to prevent a 1.0 situation where some things were high quality, and some were low quality, leading to a mismatch when you walked around and saw the world as a whole.

I wouldn't say they are better they do have the air of a Chinese mobile game about them, and just not my thing

Maybe they will abandon the current desktop client and use the mobile client for the desktop in the future.

Have to disagree here.
While there are misses, there are very good hairstyles in the game.
The one from the chaotic raid is good quality with more bones than ever before (though I agree that the short ones are ugly).
It seems we get a new hairstyle every patch nowadays, one short and one long and I think that's a good way to do it.


Regarding the mobile one.
It looks great and I would like to see it in the maingame as well.
I think the better feedback in this case would be to ask what and how of the mobile version will be used to enrich the retail version.
Will rewards be reverse developed or is it feasible to see a kind of mini team that specializes in that?
Will the devs look into qol features to bring them to us as well?


In the end, while I would love to get that hairstyle, I am quite happy with the amount of hairstyles we get and how often they are released.
I would simply like for short hairstyles to get the same amount of care put into them that long ones get.
Like I said, the last long one was great and the new coming one also looks neat.

I doubt it was the intention, but the mobile game really is just completely embarrassing SE and the main game over here. Don't forget they got garlean armors immediately, and we're 10 years deep with nary a word about it

I wish there more hairstyles like this and the toggle....I really feel they need to take a long hard look and fix the CC and the hair they give.

This is the type of hair a lot of players would love and the toggle with it. I wish they would sort something out and listen to the feedback but I doubt that.
