    One on hand, I understand the drive of wanting to optimize and really perfect your jobs performance, but at the same time, I feel like the fixation on perfection is something that really stifles job design creativity in this game, but I think the issue is less about the community and more about how the game enables us to clearly structure the “perfect” rotation because of how structured everything is

    And then... suddenly we have a cutscene or some boss-untargettable event just before a 2min burst window on normal modes lol.

    I do complain about the 2min meta overpowering every aspect of the job's performances, but I still try to play around it, even on normal content, because there's nothing else going on for DPSers.

    without fun jobs none of the content is fun!
    jobs should have their full rotations on lvl 60 or 70! for a better low lvl experience.
    for satisfying glam builduing we need 5 basic glamplates + 2 more for each class / job
    pls give us a proper glam collection like every other mmo has.
    pls upgrade the gear from normal raid and also alliance-raid by 10 ilvl each.
    pls add old glowy ex trial weapons for new jobs!
    and for gods sake pls give as the ability to preview any hairstyle on our own character!

    It is not a valid point, i was being sarcastic there.

    But you know that there is a subset of numbers site users that would grow into a massive hissy fit if there was too much variance in fights (just look at some of the reactions to M2S and M6S). Add to it that it surely feels like a lot of the changes that were made to the games combat systems in the past years were made to specifically cater to that subset, and you will see where I am coming from with that statement.

    I just now read the rhetorical question bit and feel a bit silly. I'm gonna keep that post up for people with the same kind of text understanding as I just showed though lol

    What's weird is that it feels like they care about number site for some jobs but not others. DRG had its burst condensed and Piercing Talon buffed for FRU even though the uncondensed burst would probably not have caused groups to hit enrage on Shiva, but SMN fell off a cliff after EW and has stayed there, and MCH has been the skeleton at the bottom of the pool for years.

    I think they consider having atrociously bad damage, despite having almost no utility or buffs a part of Machinists identity. Sort of like how a part of White Mage’s identity is not having utility, buffs, or anything more complicated than raw damage or raw healing.

    Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.

    Is 2 min meta here because of consoles and how controllers work? Like do they insist of keeping 2 min meta as they feel that this is the best way for people who use controllers? Otherwise they wouldn't be able to spam buttons faster or if we had gcd of 1 second? Is this the case? 'Cause I cannot think of any other way to why they would still keep this and make combat ridiculously slow.

    In either way, their "big change" would be just another visual thing to mimic and visually hide bad gameplay. All those flashy animations and big things are made to cover rotations and not make them look boring. They know it and they won't change it.
    They also don't care if people leave this game as long as whales who buy every mog item exist. They will be in deficit but it will soon come to OK numbers once they fire multiple people and leave just enough so whales can budget them.

    Let's not talk again how there are already multiple people on other websites defending YoshiP statement with: "it just another mistranslation #332552... he really didn't mean that..."

    I've seen console players get blamed for a lot of stuff, but this is just silly. The 2-minute meta stemmed from a subset of raiders who weren't happy that some jobs were being left out of some of the technical step/trick attack/divination windows and thought "just make all buffs 60 or 120 seconds, that way everyone always benefits." It has nothing to do with controllers.
