Isn't Meracydia a wasteland? What is the basis upon which anyone would desire to go there outside wanting the plot to follow exactly what Emet said, which would be boring/predictable? Serious question. Haven't major events already occurred there that aren't really open ended?

The more I think about it, this arc really is a tough act to follow. You either stay in Eorzea and come up with an all new hook, or you predictably go to another shard and kinda rehash Shadowbringers and DT. More ask 3 people, more learn about my world etc.
