The artifact armor contains some of my favorite pieces in the game. Having everything else unlocked but the pieces I really want to use for other classes would be a bit of a slap in the face. You still have to level the class to get it, that’s good enough for me?

Plus, having glams break between the same role because “oh, this robe can only be used on black mage, but this similar robe is fine for summoner” is pretty annoying.

Maybe my class fantasy is not looking like a dweeb in a robe and beanie every time I switch to a different caster outside of a sanctuary. TT__TT

Honestly I would be even okay if it's not account-wide (even tho it would be preferrable), as long as it's at least something like a fashion journal.

Main issue with current restriction seems to be that what we can glamour is intricately tied to what we can actively equip, which is why we also cannot use items of a higher level than ours (as in, if I'm a PCT at level 80, I can't wear glamour that is using a level 100 item). This means that in order to make glamour unrestricted, it needs a new system entirely, where the item actually becomes just an appearance data, not tied to the gear's de-facto attributes. Fashion journal would solve that problem.

but artifact armor are the armor exclusive to the job the armor that represents it so would make no sense to have it unlock on all other job.

Would something akin to the method used for the Resistance Weapon Replica and replica Manderville relic weapons work?

Namely, once you've unlocked the primary level xx/xxx item, you can purchase a level 1 replica of it which you can then put in the glam dresser.

It will probably cause a massive bloat in the amount of "gear" items since they're still sort of physical (as you can buy them and have them in your inventory), but yes, something like that could work potentially.

I remember suggesting something similar for accessories specifically a few years back somewhere during Shadowbringers, during one of the QA that they gathered questions for on the forums. Namely, what I offered was to also feature a lvl 1 drop from the same coffers that will be just a glamour item that looks the same as the gear presented in the dungeon. Because if you want to wear the same, let's say, necklace on all your jobs - you need five of them.

My question then wasn't featured, sadly, but I still hope that they'll do something about that. Earrings and necklaces in particular are my glamour nemesis, because you want to have 2 items appearance-wise and they end up taking up 10 slots due to job limitations.
