Given how Hot Topic puke is the norm now there should be no restrictions and enough for at the very least 1 for each job in the game period.

Agree, but along with this, allow ALL artifact gear to be stored in the Armoire. They added headers in there for separation when they made all cash shop gear able to go in there. Give us a tab or a header for each expansion’s AF gear, and make all versions of it Armoire storable. Thinking in particular of the only sets that can go in there now, you can’t put the dyeable version in there, even though dyeing is irrelevant to Armoire stuff anyways. Or the other sets that the dyeable version has a different name, like Anemos or Idealized.

Trust me all of that is also bad. It's just this notion that you can't have casters in full plate, but tanks can dress as whores and they don't lose an ounce of armor. Their excuse is laughable at this point. And by the way, they could do that in ARR so it's even more bullshit.

Ironically, in the meantime, we got the Tyrant PVP set, so you can now wear a full plate as WHM (or any other job). Somehow that isn't an issue :3

i would also really like glamour to be unrestricted. i really want to wear the neo-ishgardian top of casting on my botanist. it looks so good with the dirndl skirt, i look like a maid!! like you're telling me that top would only be worn by a caster?! ;__;

Agreed, total rework. Should be like the collections journal in WoW, to be honest. Totally account bound, used on all characters.
WoW takes and improves upon ideas from FFXIV, to the point where it now has everything XIV has to offer and more. Meanwhile, FFXIV is lacking in so many areas including things being shared through your account. Glams, mounts, and pets should 100% be accessible to all alts.
FFXIV could improve upon WoW's by letting all jobs glam the gear + making it account bound, tbh. And no level locking if you got it at that level as a drop. (For example, say your Bard is a lower level than your Machinist who got the drop - you still would be able to use it on your bard even if your Machinist was of higher level and got that gear piece at that higher level.)
For the love of gods, this game should be more alt-friendly. At least drop the story requirements if you've completed it on one character & share shop purchases with the entire account, bare minimum. Support alt friendliness: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/506856-Suggestion-FFXIV-Alt-Friendliness
I've been screaming for this for years coming from WoW. Making outfits is so much better over there. I don't want to hear any excuses about spaghetti code or whatever, WoW did it on an engine that's a full decade older.
I'd say even before those... the art direction of some set collections, purposedly designed that way, scream against the argument. Radiant Mail of Healing, or the more recent Yuweyawata fending set looking like a caster frilly set.
I don't have a problem with artifact armor remaining restricted to its job, but the restrictions should be lifted everywhere else. Look at all those poor catgirls forces to stand around on BSM to wear their chestwraps.
The limitations of the Dresser and Armoire are a separate issue from the class restrictions, but there's got to be a better way.
