Yes, that’s exactly the problem dates are really annoying to track down, the information is scattered, and it’s not easy to find quickly. To be fair it is a pain to find these fanfest dates. They used to have them all in one site to easily look, but I couldn't find it this time. ChatGPT is a good starter (I used it to start of), but yeah, usually when I try to make a point I try to look at the information myself to make sure it lines up.
I didn’t want to waste 15–20 minutes searching here and there, so I decided to trust a tool that’s constantly developing xD

Here are all your fanfest dates, collected on a single webpage, no need for ChatGPT find it (when it tends to screw up a lot).
Personally, if the fan fests aren't about complete jobs rework, where they hype different jobs/roles at each fan fest, I won't be watching. Uninstalling FFXIV from my PC. I don't like Shadowbringers gameplay. I don't want to play it for a 4th expansion.

I will say, the wording (in the video) gives me pause...
"Our 2026 Fan Fests will kick off major future plans which we'll be rolling out at a whirlwind pace".
Waiting until 2027 isn't "whirlwind pace" and I am therefore hoping that they might acknowledge that the release schedule for XIV is a problem and that maybe they'll get stuff out faster.

I'm inhaling the same copium, don't worry- that said it is very weird phrasing, so there really might be some change in scheduleI will say, the wording (in the video) gives me pause...

If they don't introduce some massive content shifts with these fan fests, Square will not see more than 2 or 3 months of subscription time from me for a whole year.
"Whirlwind pace"
Yeah. More like Whirlpool pace.
A toilet flushing aptly summarizes the trajectory of this game with this announcement.

"Whirlwind pace" probably just means Fanfests, Media Tours, trailers and things like collabs (Monster Hunter being an example), and rerunning all the events such as FFXV crossover, FFXI crossover, FFXVI crossover, a few moogle tome events, Yokai-Watch, Fall Guys, and every relevant seasonal event in between. There will be so much of that stuff going on that it will feel like a whirlwind pace of events [that any veteran player has already done and isn't interested in].
Not even being negative; I just think the intention of what he's saying probably gets lost in translation and makes it seem like he's referring to the content schedule.
That said, maybe I'm wrong and they'll announce additional patches such as .6 and .7 to reduce the patch lull.

Indeed. It does imply that the fanfests are later than expected but 8.0 won't be delayed because of it.
That said, FF7 Remake part 3 is probably going to hit the FF7 anniversary in February 2027. There ain't no way SE will release 8.0 along side a 30th celebration for their most famous game. If they do release 8.0 in 2027 it will probably be summer.
That's a whole dang year after 7.5. I don't think I can handle subscribing for a year and getting nothing in return except a place holder on my FC/FC house. I think it might truly be time to call it quits and hand it over to someone just so I can have more than a month break from subscribing.

I'm sure the FanFest themselves will be a lot of fun.
I'm a bit frustrated about the game, though. There's stuff I'm still excited about (Deep Dungeon, Variant, Conclusion of Arcadion, Beast Master, more Occult Crescent), but I'm not sure Dawntrail has the gas to fuel a high player count for more than a year, much less at this glacial pace. I genuinely couldn't remember who Geode was for 7.3 because how long it took for the patch to come out.
Anyway, let's play more Ping pong. It's the only thing that cheers me up right now.
I'm sure it'll be alright.
