If your game survives only on 3rd party mods, then it should shut downIt's like you guys want the game to die, starting to wonder if people here are Blizzard employees.
People created their own content, this improves player retention, SE does nothing to offer vanilla players a reason to play. Cycle repeats enough to alienate vanilla players, *something* kills what a large chunk of players use to validate their continued presence in the game, annihilating a group that required *zero* effort on SE's part to retain... that's going to seal the deal.
Financials for xiv were already cut in half *before* this occurred.
There's already content in this game, a large chunk really, that absolutely cannot be played unless you can convince people to run it with you. You could sit in a queue on aether for 24 hours and it never pop.
This sentiment of yours I keep seeing here is clearly one that wants to see this game dead and buried.

Please explain to me how people erping on the beach helps my queue times, these people are not playing the game they might as well not exist at all. It's like you guys want the game to die, starting to wonder if people here are Blizzard employees.

That'd assume that they only eRP at beach.
Those players could have been doing their daily roulettes, weekly raids and all that. Just that player-generated content kept them engaged during the content drought.

If the game would die without ERPers as some in this thread assert, then I say let it die.
I do not think however that this is the case. I think they're an exceptionally loud, self-interested group that thinks they're more prominent than they are. They are a very loud, very small minority.
WAR don't get changes because they don't need changes. They only need more enemies to cleave.
Imagine acting like a 12 year old over a 3rd Party tool that broke TOS being shut down, that you review bomb on Steam.. How sad can you be? You surely did such an impact! The stock prices dropped a WHOPPING 0.38% in a day! Crazy...

Imagine having such a big head that you think that players that mod are the only reason why the game exists. Modders, especially the RP modders have lived in a bubble for a very long time. There is a very large console player base and vanilla pc player base regardless of what you think. It's like you guys want the game to die, starting to wonder if people here are Blizzard employees.

A busy game world helps to retain other players. A dead empty space puts people off.
Obviously you have clear disdain for people who don't play the game your way, but Jesus christ why can't you see that a stable source of income doesn't help keep the game afloat?
If you don't give a crap about the health of the game, why are you posting on its forums?
Therapy is more effective than being vitriolic on an anonymous forum and I'm saying that to all those it applies to.
You deserve ff14 less than those beachcombers, such is your attitude.
The game cannot afford to lose those players, and if this sparks a wider move towards eliminating similar things, it will become a catastrophe.Imagine having such a big head that you think that players that mod are the only reason why the game exists. This is not "the most popular mmo" on the market anymore, by a long shot.
We are back to rookie numbers, and slashed profit when dawntrail has already halved it to begin with? What utter foolishness.
I've been vanilla since day one. I'm just not stupid. I see the value of a demographic that will keep giving me money even if I completely ignore them and expend no effort to cater to them.
You don't. That's a you issue.

Idlers turn me off to an MMO. ERPers are idlers.

Square Enix stock has barely had a dent. If all of them leaving REALLY left such a big impact. We would see Roblox level of stocks tanking. This is nothing, the SE Holdings stock closed out at -0.32%, while it's been on an upward trend... from about $490 a share to 475. Crazy numbers that!
