There is zero chance they end it with 8.0. Despite being over a decade old now, the PS4 still has half the entire Playstation install base. Ending support for it would be disastrous, especially when the PS6 doesn't even have an official announcement yet.

Regardless, contrary to popular belief, it's not the PS4 holding back the game. It's lower end PCs. And neither have anywhere close to the impact the PS3 did. Ending support for either wouldn't offer much at this point. Either way, it won't be before 9.0.
