Dawntrail character graphics update - opinions, requests and discussion megathread

I know this is a bit of a nitpick but after the 7.3 update, there's now a somewhat noticeable seam on the back of the head with the hair that my character is currently using. You can't actually see it until you move the camera to the left or right, but it wasn't there before as far as I can remember. I don't usually have him wear hats so I definitely would have seen it before now.

There are no direct upload options in the forums themselves, so Imgur is as good a place to host your pics as any, as you did.

So, I managed to get some better pictures of before/after DT, and the change between DT and EW just becomes that much more obvious. I really miss the sharper look of my elezen and the brighter eyes.

I think this kind of stuff is bug reportable. Try post about this in the bug report section.
How ever it may take forever and ever to fix, at least by the next big patch.

Can something be done about the lips on Male (Sea Wolf in particular) Roegadyn? They are strangely glossy after the Dawntrail changes. It looks like they all have lip gloss on and is especially noticeable on Face 1. It was not like this at all before Dawntrail and kind of ruins the way my old Roegadyn used to look.

The mouths are the worst part of the "upgrade," and changing two pixels on the face texture will never fix it, but that's sadly how theyve been addressing feedback so far...

Far from a perfect 1:1, still wanted to canvass some opinions - hopefully it is fit for this purpose - on the shape of the eyes. Has it changed or am I hallucinating things? A few other aspects seem to be tweaked also, though less confident claiming so without a proper match up. Do miss the wishbone our ears had prior to the update. It was a nice touch which helped distinguish us as a XIV elf. Have a feeling though the alteration was intentional and we won't see a change unless other elezen speak out.
Will try a second attempt on request (my screenshot folder consists mostly of cutscenes and lore tidbits, didn't exactly have a wealth of EW portraits to utilize)

There is probably a very minor change in the shape of the eyelids. The shadows beneath the upper eyelids are making any minor difference look like a more involved change than it is. Without a true one-to-one though it's hard to say how much different, just that the shadows are definitely exacerbating it.

Yes, many facial traits have been changed, including the shape of the face, eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth. The eyes have become less wide and open, the tip of the nose moved a little bit lower, and the lower lip is completely different. You are not imagining things. Yes, your character's face has been changed. Even though every single change isn't that drastic, there are lots of them, and thus she looks different.

I still miss the face of my Lalafell sooo much. His eyes had so much more life and the simper mimic was always a cuteness overload moment.
Now he looks dead and often kinda creepy. Is there any hope that they fix how they ruined Dunesfolk? :/

Female Aura Face 2 is in my personal opinion an insult. Really an insult to every player who loved the individual look of this face. For me the
new one is a face 5 option, while face 2 is missing. At this point, (if they want to fix this) they need to make the old one an additional face option.
Otherwise they piss off all the people who use that 'face 2' since it's the different DT version.

Thank you to those that responded; apologies for the irksome question, however I'm not particularly good at pinpointing and articulating whatever might be niggling my brain when it comes to analyzing faces, especially stylized ones. Helps to have keener eyes and minds on the case.
