The thing that has bothered me so much is .. they gave wuk our 10yr journey final cutscene from EW.

remember after we woke up after fighting Zenos. first person we saw was alphi who was healing us followed by the rest of the scions were gathered around us mainly in tears but yeah

When wuk woke up the first person she saw was alphi who was healing her followed by the scions. they were literally crouching round her like it was round a bedside...

like .. what?

like or loathe her do you honestly think she should have gotten the cutscene we got after going through 10yrs worth of expansions?

am i just really reading into this ??

I'm really trying to ignore this and just assume that 8.0 wont include someone else who is like wuk but honestly. if they can do this after such varied player feedback across the planet im unsure i trust them anymore.

Only thing I thought that was weird about that was seeing through her eyes. We've seen through Golbez's eyes too, but only in Echo-vision as I recall, so it was strange. Otherwise it didn't bother me.

She's been an integral part of the story up until this point, and this is the ending of the main Dawntrail arc. Why wouldn't she be allowed to have an emotional resolution to her story? She's been busting her ass off trying to help the Alexandrians even though they aren't her people, and literally bled for them, because of a promise she made to the other Sphene. She's been putting work in the entire time, but someone says one thing on a post, and the hivemind collectively gathers on the hate train because they can't form a coherent thought on their own. Someone has to tell them first.

It gives weight to the Alexandrians’ story and shows that sacrifices and loyalty matter beyond just the main cast. Wuk Lamat had a serious glow up in this story that people really ignored. That's a thing that bothers me more than her just existing in the story and doing stuff.

Reading a bit too much into it, yes. But they do have a nasty habit of repeating a lot of things in their stories if they see that it works.

I was a bit annoyed and it was weird to see *as* her without an Echo vision but we should be moving on from Tural. It's another indication of the lack of knowledge of the format of the game up to this point.

So long as they don't do it with the next area's new NPC then I don't think it's something to get too upset about.

Yep when the cutscene was going on I thought "Okay Wuk is going to break the barrier and then the WoL and/or the rest of the team will destroy the memory bank". And I was cool with that because getting an assist from NPCs around us isn't unusual for the WoL at all. It goes along with the idea that we're not ever really alone and our friends are our power.

One other nice thing with the patch was Sphene being able to use Wuk instead of the other name (I never remember what it is and don't care to). Sphene is acquainted with Wuk but they're not besties. So it made sense Sphene would use Wuk. Just kind of wish we had been given that option instead of having Krile try to claim we were shy about it or whatever that nonsense was.

my pet peeve with this thread isn't even the delusional haterism, it's the fact that it's been over a year and people still don't get how names work in the lore. calling wuk lamat "wuk" is the slightly less egregious equivalent of calling g'raha tia "tia". please develop reading competence I'm begging you
