I wont say the game is in a great state with how Dawntrail started, but steps to address our criticisms are clearly being taken. Regardless, we just continue to gripe and moan about EVERYTHING without showing a shred of patience. Development takes time. Especially if you want that content to be even remotely decent.
I feel like we have become immensely disrespectful towards the developers and their ability to deliver good content in such short windows of time. It may not seem like it but FOUR MONTHS isn't exactly a lot of time when it comes to developing a game. Giving constructive criticism is one thing, but our constant demanding everything now now now, just sounds like spoiled toddler behavior.

By all means keep providing TACTFUL, constructive criticism, but lets be mindful, developers and testers are people too. Consider how you would feel if your boss lorded over you constantly, rushing you to meet deadlines, all whilst belittling your work and the moment its done, its not enough or not good enough. That's how we are treating them right now...
Gentle reminder that this is a subscription based game.
My whole life I have not given a company more money for a game than this one, so yes, I am entitled to receive value for my money and I am also entitled to express my disapproval with the patches. If you can not stand it, then avoid the general forum.

Yes, developers are people too, but guess what, they are not my friends (and also not yours). This is a business relationship. I give money, they give service. No service, no satisfied customers.

Gentle reminder that with a subscription-based game, you can subscribe for however long or short you want to. There are plenty of people that just do 1-month subscriptions at a time and then let it expire if they don't find other stuff to do in-game. FFXIV has a veritable mountain of things you can do. Which doesn't mean any particular amount of it needs to appeal to you, but so many people around here seem to act as if content doesn't exist just because they personally don't like it. You've hopefully received plenty of value for your money throughout the time you've been subscribed. It doesn't entitle you to anything specific going forward.

There's also a variety of ways people can express disapproval with something. Some ways are mature, reasoned, thoughtful critiques that give the developers specific ideas on how they might make the game appeal to a wider audience. Others are immature drivel just trashing everything and personally attacking the developers for what in the end simply amounts to making a different game than the complainer wanted. Guess which take is much, much, much more common on this forum...(and then act surprised when the dev team widely ignores this place).

The simple reality is that it is not humanly possible to produce content at the rate some people will consume it. Heck, EW released with 60+ hours of content, and even with the login disasters that were locking people out, there were still people who finished everything within a week and then complained that there wasn't more new stuff to do. Thankfully, it's looking increasingly like the dev team has learned to just ignore those people and design their own game on their own reasonable schedule.

Edit: And NO MSQ and Alliance Raid does not count.
This invalidates any point you might want to have. As soon as you start with the "I'm right, as long as you ignore everything that shows I'm wrong", you're just admitting you're wrong. So yes, MSQ counts. Alliance raid counts. Every bit of content that you personally don't find interesting counts.

Yeah i really wish all the major content of a patch was at the .X and the .X.X patches were for bug fixes, events, and job changes instead.

Well, if I do that then my FC will die and I won't have any reason to ever log in again. MMOs thrive on the social aspect and that's not something you can maintain logging in every couple of months as that kinda kills the whole vibe. Does that make sense to you?

Also, I did the MSQ, the Alliance, some crafting and some PVP and it makes me feel like this is going to be some very long 4 months again until the next patch. It's not like I am rushing anything, I am doing one thing at a time.

Has nothing to do with whether or not I find it interesting and everything to do with that isn't what people are asking for when they're complaining about "no content".

    They're looking for things like:

    Deep Dungeons
    Crafter/Gather Relic progression
    DoW/DoM Relic progression
    A new set of raids
    Ultimate
    V/C
Things like IS or new things added to the game like a new mode something we do not yet have
    Maps
    CAR

MSQ and Alliance do not count to most people not because they don't find them interesting. Prior to this expansion I found them interesting. They do not count because they're BASE LINE CONTENT.

Asking for a DD or Relic progression (ideally BOTH) ON TOP OF MSQ and w/e Alliance Raid/EX/Dungeon we get too is not much.

I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.
