The "join duty in progress" change is ridiculous.

Why would you ever want to join halfway through a duty you've never done before? This is an incredibly reasonable change to make.

There is a difference. If you join halfway through a trial or raid, you will miss the first half of that trial or raid. New players do in fact do roulettes before they are fully caught up, but this isn't exclusively about them anyway because this game is updated with new duties every major patch for endgame players to enjoy.
