    Can we PLEASE improve this relic grind?

    It's absolutely miserable. People complained about the relic weapon being "too easy" in EW (I thought it was fine) and this feels like a massive overcorrection. Whoever decided that the items you grind for needed to be a dice roll needs to have their nuts smashed with a hammer. Can we at LEAST improve the drop chance? It would be one thing if the grind was at least FUN but CEs are just massive damage sponges with (mostly) basic one-shot mechanics.

    It really makes me want to just skip the grind this expansion because of how bad it is.

    They were already asked in their most recent Q&A about atma drop rates. They said nope, they're fine.. and they're correct.

    Not a fan? skip it. Grinds aren't for everyone.

    CE’s have a 20% drop rate. While there isn’t exactly an even distribution of CE’s on average you will get one per 5 CE’s. Let assume due to duplicates the average person needs 1.5 times as many atma’s as the baseline of 18 (so 27). 27 atma at one per 5 is 135 CE’s. It takes 100 CE’s to get enough silver to get one set of +0 gear (and another 90 to get enough silver for +1)

    So the average player will get all atma either before or around when they get one set of +1 gear. That is not remotely a hard grind. You basically auto complete it progressing in the zone

    Fates are 4 times less likely to drop atma but award 6.7 times less silver which means factoring in fates you are even more likely to complete the relic before you complete a +1 set

    Want something that doesn't feel like a damage sponge and is sleepwalk content for most players? There's FATEs. And the FATEs outside OC are even more trivial mechanically, which you'll discover in the unlikely event you solo one in OC. If you only get 1 drop in 60 FATEs that's absolutely nothing. You can do that in an evening like with Shared FATEs, the entirety of which (all 6 zones) can be done in 1 week just playing in the evenings.

    Want something that is just enough of a damage sponge (not that much) so it has time to do actual mechanics? There's CEs. They are only a sponge really if the participants are not doing damage. They do not feel like the Nier raids which have some real damage sponges.

    The CE mechanics don't really 1-shot you but you might get that impression if every single one of them hits you in succession. If they are doing this then perhaps it is proof that they are not "basic" mechanics. Personally I've found them pretty fun. They take time to learn and figure out because they are not just "move out of red circle" like Sastasha.

    Don't like grinds? Then you can do whatever option the game gives you that doesn't involve one such as crafted weapons. Even right this moment, Augmented Crafted weapons are better than relics.

    If you're just after the glam, they nerf relic steps over time and by the middle of the next expansion it will likely be nerfed a lot by then.

    Imagine if RNG always rolled on the averages.

    Yes that’s why I said average

    So for every person here claiming they have done 01959206&1&59169295828581851969 fates and gotten 0 Demiatma putting them 11 standard deviations from the mean there is 2000 people who had a completely normal experience and now are pointlessly accumulating relics with tomestones

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    I wish I could trade in my extras for verdigris. There is literally a singular CE for it and it has to be manually spawned. Sitting capped on the tomes I need for the next step but can't use them. I have no problem with the demi atmas other than this one in particular.

    It wouldn't be a problem to grind it if:

    - Occult Crescent zone as a whole wasn't boring and bland.
    - Fates didn't end in mere seconds and until you come it's already over because people have faster mounts than you.
    - Critical Encounters are only ones worth waiting for but they take time to organize and waiting period is tiresome.
    - Having to constantly click on the first aetheryte at the base and then teleport from that one to other smaller ones is tedious.
    - Having to grind same thing over and over again will start to feel boring eventually when you realize that your progress and gear matters none.
    - This game actively tries to punish players and doesn't respect your time.

    Instead of them trying to make something refreshing for these things, they just keep doing with "just do fates, it's easy for us to copy / paste it".
