Don’t see why they couldn’t just make it like the interior flooring as others have said, and have a handful of different “grounds” you can put down. It’s only affecting the square of your plot, and wouldn’t extend beyond that boundary.

That said, you can change the ground for your entire Island, but that’s an instanced outdoor zone… oh the things that could be more easily done with an instanced housing option!

I was in agreement with this at first, because the housing plots are generally raised on platforms that are surrounded by stone/brick/etc and completely separated from the grass of the surrounding environment. But then I realized the Lavender Beds is unique in that its plots don't have that same separation from the grass outside the plot — it still has the raised platforms, but your plot's grass is the same grass as the platform or surrounding area, which would make many fencing/lawn combinations an eyesore

But if you pay attention to the picture you posted you'll realize there is a straight line of wood separating the yard itself with the rest of the raised section, this is true for all houses in all wards as well (unless I forgot a ward that don't do this), it means there is already a line separating them so I'd say this is not an issue unless you are that bothered about the grass on the other side of the line not changing too, which is actually not an issue still as you can just opt out of changing it.

This also mean they don't have to work too hard in making the ground something you can change, they just work with the lines already there by separating the textures fully, so I am all for adding this as an option
