GC Seals/Tokens/Poetics for Phoenix Downs

I'm very disappointed that Phoenix Downs, the new option to rez players in dungeons, is exclusively a gil-only purchase.

MEANWHILE we're racking up Grand Company Seals, tokens, and even Tomestones of Poetics like there's no tomorrow.

This is wrong and we need to change this.

We shouldn't be expending gil on items that should essentially be free. If you want players to maintain a stock of them, it's bad enough that this is taking up one more spot on the hotbars let alone charging them gil prices.

I hope the dev team listens and at least offers some alternative way to acquire phoenix downs instead of gil. The preliminary patch notes really disappointed me that this is going to become another item that nobody wants to waste on rando parties.

I know some people are going to come barging in here saying "but gil is useless" even though there's way more things you need to use it for versus half the tokens in the game being junk for years.

Agreed. Gil is actually valuable whereas the rest can only be valuable if they're converted to gil. All the crap we're capped on is being wasted.

Agreed, they should've. After all, its relatively easy to farm up seals such as through expert deliveries. But I guess this just means we are converting unwanted gear into GC seals and GC seals into moonstones and moonstones into gil and then gil into phoenix feathers.

Are moonstones the most effective way of making gil from the GCs? I haven't tried that yet.

Hmm, no. More effective exchange short term rate would be selling bamboo paper or magicked oilcloth or glacier crystal in stacks of 6. As while it costs 3600 seals to buy 6 bamboo paper, they sell to vendors for 2160 gil instead of moonstones which cost 4000 seals and sell for 1200 gil. Moonstones value in gil is more related to each stack being up to 999 and therefore worth 1,198,800 gil per stack, which is actually more than a full stack of allagan platinum pieces which comes to 990,000 gil.

But still same thing really. Converting an old ARR material into gil just to buy a thing.

I would be OK if it cost GC seals, though, since I already have 39k ventures stocked up for another decade of quick ventures done.

And I use Poetics to gear up jobs I'm leveling every 10 levels and to level desynthing.

Seals I use to get ventures, dark matter, prisms, dispellers.

I agree with OP to, phoenix downs should be on the list of things you can spend seals on, like antidotes and echo drops.
