This is what happens when you have corporate bean counters running things, they only care about profits and would throw out slop and see if it sticks instead of having real gamers leading. When real gamers were leading over 20 years ago, FF was at it's best and the same is true for many franchises like Halo and Half Life for example. That passion for gaming is gone at the top of the corporate ladder in SE and all other AAA gaming publishers. The 90s and 2000s truly were the golden age of gaming in terms of creativity and more before corporate bean counters took over.
