Is it really worth reseting everyones mutelist because of some snowflakes wanting to keep their creepy double life in an fantasy mmorpg? I dont get it.I think it's being reset primarily because of the comments feature which could potentially allow people to still identify alts, or at least that is their belief.
I can't relate because I simply don't hang out in Limsa or pay attention to adverts. You can most likely find some common keywords and block those via term filter though.
The half-baked term filter is by far not good enough to filter out all the cringe adverts.

Yes its worth it. But you should blame Square for their incompetence to introduce the new blacklist how they did which results in such a mess.
Yes it, you're just far too apathetic to understand why it's a stupid choice to allow this to persist in the first place.
That being said, this is entirely on the developers for doing an insufficient job that is barely worth the effort of someone doing a Level 3 diploma in IT. It's definitely more than just "Some snowflakes wanting to keep their creepy double life."

Has nothing to do with having kids or not.
I think the only kid around here is you. The nonsense you post under every thread is worrying. Please seek help.
Plenty to do with it.
Imagine your underage child playing a game (FINAL FANTASY XIV is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Alcohol Reference, Animated Blood, Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence.) and they get a shout promoting an ERP 18+ Club/Party House in game, only to go to one of those places and get bombarded with advertisements to questionable websites for services in a suggestive nature.
Better yet, imagine being the adult trying to pick up an underage teen's character. Or the adult promoting it in a /shout in a main city.
I have no problems with peoples lifestyles, but FFS find another way to promote it that isn't in-game. I have a big problem with potential minor exploitation.
Not considering how a child can be exposed to sexual content in a T-Rated game in itself is wild. Go Find Counselling.

Then you misunderstood me I think.
I'm against the erp adverts and I want SE to take actions against it especially now that everyones Mute-List will be reset.
+18 Adverts shouldnt be allowed in any way imo and people participating in that kind of roleplay should instead advertise it on third party websites, discord servers ect.
Unfortunately the Entertainment Software Rating Board is only for NA and sadly if im not mistaken the only age rating company that doesnt rate community created content like the erp nightclubs.
I opened a thread about this half a year ago but it ended up in it felt like 90% of the people defending those adverts and making fun of me for thinking it shouldnt be allowed in a 12+ rated game. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...s-this-allowed

I don't RP, never will, but I have to ask you, how is this the players' fault? Why blame the players when Square made it like this?

He said up there "I'm 12 and my country doesn't want me to see shout chat in Limsa" or something I forget exactly what he said
