    If they don't have the technical skills to improve inventory. A complete rework of all the items from one to hundred. They could easily delete thousands and thousands. They could easily make gear that level synchs from 1 to 90. Delete all the old sets and replace them with level 1 glamour(like pvp) cleaned up graphics and dye channels. Instead of farming a random drop, once complete the dungeon, achievement and vendor opens up. With the galmour on a vendor even if they can't fix dresser. You can always just go back to the vendor when you want to use it again. This would be a lot of work. But nothing outside of the current limitation of the game.

    Sadly SE see the invantory issue as a game in to itself.
    There is no reason why bait doesn't have it's own bag,
    There is no reason for Daily quest items aren't Key items,
    There is no reason why book, coin other turn in items are in a special currancy tab to themselve.
    IE, I have like 35-40 Rathalos Scale+ from The_Great_Hunt_(Extreme), and yes I could easily go finish it to get my mount, But I've had 35-40 for over a year. I don't want to toss them because I want the mount but inturn they are eating up inventory. Why isn't there someplace that store this items. I sure as hell don't need to queue the server of what I have everytime /isearch for something. if it was in it's own Currancy tab the server would only need to request data when I got a new one, or spent some, Otherwise the data could be stored locally. If the number changes it queues the server and updates the local number. So it wouldn't matter what I had.

    Commendations.
    If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
    If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
    If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

    Only if they should be getting a commendation.
    There are always exceptions to the rules!

    I'd have a lot more space if i didn't need to keep all my weapons on my retainers because the glam dresser is full.,.
    Can we copy wow's transmog system already? No excuses, just do it already.

    It's badly needed when more than half of my things stored in my retainers are glams from dungeons and more as I like collecting them and my dresser has been full since Early EW Q_Q


    Please have the same system for housing furnishings or at least give us double the space because I have retainers full of housing furnishings as well.

    More important than that is merging up all these inventories. The reason cited for why they can't is "you can't carry too much data with you". Which means either network traffic is too overwhelming for their server, database traffic is too much for their server or the communication across different physical machines is too much. Realistically, I can think of solutions to every one of these problems:
    1. Split unrelated game features between multiple servers and have the client connect to each individually.
    2. Split the database into 2 or more to split the traffic. Balance tables between them.
    3. First solution covers the third issue as well.
    and many MMOs don't have all these issues.
    This, but... the weird thing is that Armory Chests were designed to do exactly that, and yet we still have more trouble loading our 140 slots of inventory thereafter than one does on WoW or GW2.

    Sometimes it makes me wonder what the Armory Chest accomplishes besides getting filled so quickly by, say, the Scouting Green, Aiming Purple, and Striking Red versions of a chest-piece whose appearance is otherwise identical that we eventually have to check our inventories anyways to see whether we have an item for a given job for the given level range if multi-leveling across multiple dungeon/expansion spans at a time.

    A WoW character's 156 (more if Vulpera) slots of on-demand inventory go so, so much further since that's effectively per-job and has no requirement to hold onto gear longterm for appearances (you gain the appearance the moment you acquire/bind the item) or to be used by another job (since you can usually just mail it to them or it's only worth vendoring anyways).

    It makes me long for the 1.x mechanic of being able to use gear above your class/job's level, with said gear just auto-syncing its stats to your level (with the only cost being some tiny amount of stat efficiency -- e.g., 5 ilvl's worth of secondary stats -- and paying the repair costs according to the gear's actual level).

    And, of course, I'd love it if we could (re)consolidate gear a la levels 1-40. There's no reason that dungeon sets with --dye color aside-- only 4 actual appearances should have to take up 7 different items; it's okay to occasionally give a "freebie", especially when considering the awkwardness that is only one role having to have 3x the armor of every other role.

    (Then there's the obvious need for an appearance collection. XIV's system is a massive and unnecessary burden not just on players, but also because instead of needing full --and therefore far more data-intensive-- items rather than just hidden 0/1 achievement checks for appearance unlocks.)

    Something something. This is why friendslist and other things havent been upgraded. But I SURE am glad that FF16 and the upcoming projects will make money for SE. So glad our submoney and devpower is being used for something else than the game we are paying for monthly.
    Except apparently those projects don't make SE money according to them. We're literally sending the profits into a flop machine to make flops.

    I just came back, saw my inventory at full capacity and was ready to close the game. We urgently need a 3rd free retainer, or a complete overhaul of the inventory system. I'm not one who usually complains, but we keep getting more and more newer items, and I personally like decorating houses and store a bunch of seasonal decorations. We've had 2 free retainers since the game launched (maybe, I joined in 2015). We got a few extra storage spaces, but nothing since. The level 80 relic is eating like half of my chocobo's storage :c

    Definitely an overhaul.
    A third retainer will only prolong the inevitable.

    Inventory in this game is horrible and all they have done is plaster bandaids on it, because they refuse to, or for some reason cannot, build something functional from the ground up.
    - Account-wide list of unlocked glamours (without dyes applied) for instance. Imagine the amount of data no longer required if available glamours were only stored once per account instead of per character.
    - Housing furnishings working similar to island sanctuary items. No longer requiring 50, 60, 70 of the same partition, because you could just clone multiple items from a single one.
    - Or while we're at it - housing items being account-wide unlockables too, that allow you to freely pick them from a list once you bought / crafted / found them once (Adding to that: nobody wants to farm Arboretum Hard for a gazillion Verdant Partitions for vegetation oriented designs anyways >.<). House storage would be obsolete with a solution like this.
    - Currencies like Extreme Trial totems might as well be currencies like the ones from beast tribes.
    - Materia should also be treated as its own currency or have its own inventory space.

    But... they won't do any of this. If developers cannot even get basic features right, like Forked Tower queues for instance, chances of them coming up with viable solutions for less important side features are pretty slim.
