With people craving old school MMO's lately, would FF14 1.23b be so terrible?

I've seen the gameplay of 1.0 and I'm not really interested.

The fact people are eyeing it at all speaks volumes of how bad gameplay has gotten now.

I like that slow, methodical gameplay, myself. It's why I still play FF11 from time to time, but I wish they gave it a more modern interface.
