While fully qualified in terms of in-game requirements to be a battle and trade mentor, I mostly take off my crown when its new content or if its been long enough for content to be unfamiliar to me. As I don't think that would be very mentor of me to be repeatedly making mistakes while having a crown on.

I personally don't mind being MT or OT, whatever gets the duty cleared and people are having a fun time.

Really, you're just there to help as a participant in the fight. You don't need to be like a dungeon guide or something, unless they specifically ask for it. In many cases, they actually want to do it blind, so unless they ask or there are 3 wipes, you don't need to get to the advice part. Letting them learn and just being the nice person to try again with them is fine. Usually they will learn from their mistake and get it the next pull.

Extremes are usually where you end up needing to explain things and it's almost guaranteed that someone has to in these, or is asked to by someone there who doesn't know the fight.
As for the Novice Network; I just wish it was a more helpful tool to throw a message in when a party is stuck and we're looking for a role that needs filling in a specific dungeon
In my experience, mentors usually join in when asked if they are available. And especially when it's an in-progress fill.
Last I looked it was more closer to the largest chat room the game can offer with varying quality of whoever happens to be present.
People chat in them a lot but this helps to show that it is active. If nobody talked, the assumption by a sprout is likely to be that nobody talks in it and asking things is pointless.

Let me guess, this happened exactly 1 time, but you came into the forums to cry how it's a widespread occurrence for as few pity points.

I've done hundreds of those, and not once have I met such behaviour on the Light Data center. Also, you don't have to announce you are a first timer. We can see you watching the cutscene, also, if you want to tank, turn on stance and Voke to communicate your intention at the begining of the fight.

Also to add when you get a 1st time tank in content like yourself they tend to do all kinds of weird shit and make an absolute mess of the fight.
Most people want their rouletts to be over fast and not deal with a new tank that wants to MT facing the boss into the group, not cooldowning obvious tankbusters etc
Not saying this is you, but when my co tank is doing bad I provoke, unlike most other tanks that would rather let the other tank wipe the raid than step in, especially is roulettes.

I became a mentor just to show every that I am important. Don't care about the "expected" part.

Sorry to break your ignorant assumptions but no it hasn't just happened once. But multiple times. The reason I say first timer is due to the fact that not everyone turns on the setting that automatically skips cutscenes when you've seen them before.

Let me guess you sit on the forums for hours every day putting people down because it makes yourself feel superior.

Just for your personal understanding. I used to be a mythic raiding tank in WoW. I pushed high level mythic plus dungeons as well. I know what I'm doing. I might not know what X boss does when it comes to going in blind but I'm not what you would consider a "new" tank. I know about tank busters, facing the boss away. ect ect ect.

If I was messing up so badly that it was causing wipes then I could understand a mentor stepping in. But to not even allow me the chance to tank is the issue. They are supposed to as I put in the original post basically be the exemplar for player etiquette. Not allowing someone to blind tank a boss is the total opposite of that. Again the issue is the fact that they are mentors with the crown. Putting that on means you can't just act like a selfish ass. Also like I put before either non mentors or people just without the crown happily have allowed me to blind tank bosses.

That's... hella silly, just do your rotation well and you'll rip aggro regardless???

Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.

depend if the DPS solo target the crap out of the mob then yes the tank will struggles to keep it but if all DPS AOE even if you do a full single target then AOE it shouldnt be taken.

but also DoT are a good way to keep aggro to like strangely way to good

I don't agree with this. So what, if shit hits the fan, nobody started this game with thousands of runs of the dungeon/ raid *insert, whatever you want here*. Everyone starts somewhere, and allowing them to make mistakes is important. You can provide feedback or guidance, but voking because they don't perform to your standards is just plain wrong and toxic, sending the wrong signal. No wonder people start having anxiety going in first time or for harder content, cause mistakes are taboo and not allowed. Just stop with that nonsense..

Yes, it happened multiple times, in your head.
