This thread is a perfect example of why cross region travel was a mistake, entitled americans and eur*peans invading our server being as obnoxious as ever. First thing you people did was raid the market board and drive up prices, buying all rare items which we never had much of now you prevent sprouts from doing quests in ARR areas. Keep up the good work guys! at least you can have esex with 40 year old men on the beach from halfway across the world!

This is basically why SE will never kill mods, the sheer amount of players that would quit is just too large.
I heard that data transfer of mod information between players went from 42TB/day to 74-80TB/day because of this.

I have heard that people are openly discussing Mare, sharing codes, and partaking in sexual activities in public in violation of the Terms of Service. Twitter shows enough evidence of that. If you do not like the policies that Square Enix has established, then you need to play a different game.

In addition, being in a public space is not stalking. Idling in a space is not stalking. If so, then everyone who is attending this meetup is also stalking.

I've been playing this game for ten years and it's never been this bad. Square Enix has allowed this game's reputation to be irreversably ruined. Every community has been afflicted and most normal people are tired of it.

Frankly, SE doesnt care about their own terms on third party software and mods. It's there so that they can ban problematic behavior, not to actually police. SE would lose a TON of money if they actually policed this and they know it - it would nearly kill the housing community as well as a lot of people who use them for accessibility and even QoL. There are people complaining that VFX give them migraines and there is no in-game solution to resolve this, but plugin developer fixed this years ago and thousands of players use this and thats just one example. The gathering tracking plugin reportedly has over 2 million downloads, more downloads than currently active players.

In fact, SE would lose less money getting rid of mod narcs than modders.

There are many other plugins which also function as “accessibility tools”, like auto-rotation, auto-duty and auto-crafters. Gatherbuddy and other automators are explicitly called out because they are enhancing performance. A vanilla/console player could never compete against a botter when it comes to marketboard sales volume, for example. The “slippery slope” is a straight drop because FFXIV is the only MMO without any kind of enforcement for cheating.

But that’s easy to prove. What isn’t easy is telling people how much the community has changed in ten years. Materia is congested for the sole purpose of, as they say, “gooning”. There are more than enough pictures and stories, all enabled by the same cheat tools. This has been going on for a while. Most venues use them along with many communities and FCs. It has become a social expectation and is almost mandatory for roleplay. If you search for game screenshots anywhere, this is what you see:

Can you please stop posting links to nsfw stuff on the official forums? As if twitter is the only place to represent ffxiv. Here's yt search for ffxiv https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ffxiv and there's nothing nsfw. It's not ffxiv problem, it's because twitter allows to post things like this. Do you think if you ban all mods, people will stop doing this? No! People have been making nsfw content for ages, long before ffxiv was even in the production. You don't need to weaponize this event to solve the botting problem.
