Dear SE: Please listen to actual players, not just content creators

consistently critical, hardly, consistently whiny, absolutely, her rants are not criticism since they lact objectivity, I mean.... going as far as complaining about the music used in cutscenes? please.... and the fact she alienated most of her viewership is undeniable, just look at her streaming numbers. Also people are fed up with negativity by now.

But at the end of the day, this is also a people created problem. Maybe we should all stop giving these streamers so much importance in the first place

I stopped watching her because her hate-boner for Dawntrail felt kind of mean-spirited and manufactured. Every criticism she's given it's just very popular takes on this expansion so I decided it was better to part ways.

I felt like this for every other streamer, I don't know why suddenly we have given them the voice of what's acceptable or not in FFXIV.

Yeah the discords are doing it. I spent some time in South Horn last night and saw three separate in-progress FT runs. None of them deigned to spawn the Recluse, though, so I guess they've decided the tower's "puzzle" is a waste of their time.

Thank goodness square hurried and fixed forked tower foir the streamers ACTUAL PLAYERS WERE TRYING TO GET IN THE PRIVILEGED ONE'S RAID BEFORE *GASP*!!! Now we don't have to worry about it, square wisely told players like me "come back later, maybe never idk" and the streamers of course gave their full throbbing approval

This is such a weird post. If her takes are popular opinions then why would sharing them feel mean-spirited or manufactured? Do you not think that maybe... just maybe... she's actually just a long-term fan of the game and has a lot of the same feelings about Dawntrail as the rest of the community?

what he means is that she just takes whatever is the most parroted take and she parrots it again with the excuse of criticism, regardless if the take is genuine or bait, to go with the flow, which is something many others did. Again, it generates the most clicks, and clicks are revenue, so no wonder people are skeptical to downright turned away from the content

That's just how it felt to me, like she was playing it up for clicks, especially when I saw her interacting with Asmongold I felt like she was taking a page out of his leaf, believing in nothing but mirroring what the community is circle-jerking to, so I decided not to watch her anymore.

Whenever you like her or agree with her is beyond this, streamers and content creators shouldn't have the community's voice.

I'd honestly be ok with the dev team taking a step back and improve the current existing game with not only QoL, but just generally improving the systems and gameplay that is there already.
Would be great to have like a full update cycle solely dedicated to improving stuff thats there rather than adding new things.

But now they're practically stuck cause they added OC and ofcourse people want the next locale for OC to come and that's gonna take more attention. Even if it was a long awaited addition.
And also new criterion and the new beastmaster job, it's just too much for any dev team.

Hi, content creators! Since you (and hopefully SE marketing reps) are here, I'll respond directly.

Content Creators: First, congrats to your audience for pushing back against your out of touch, anti-casual takes. At least they care about the game, even if some of you are just waiting for the next GW2 sponsorship.


Second, you all know that MMOs have an aging audience with more jobs, bills, and family responsibilities than time to game. All MMOs are declining in players, so what's the end goal of trying to tank FFXIV faster? Other Twitch/YouTube gaming categories are more competitive, we're all too old for TikTok, and "Just Chatting" is dominated by a select few. Pivot to caring about the game we all benefit from.

SE Marketing Team: Other games have a creator program and an open way for everyday players to comment on patches and expansions. In-game feedback forms, surveys, Discord tickets, etc. Please make it easier for casual players to reach Yoshi P and the dev team.
