I feel like it should be aligned with patch duration. Anyone that comes for every patch has the right to keep its house. So 19 weeks minus the 4 weeks of sub. 15 weeks.
This is (unfortunately) impossible as long as the system remains as it is. People are already struggling to get houses - so if we make these timescales even longer, it's going to be terrible.
In absolute terms I completely agree that it should be longer, but as things stand it would be a problem.
They always bring up "take a break". It should be at least one patch cycle. It fits the take a break propaganda.
If they'd actually want you to take a break. The demo cycle would be 60 to 90 days.
What they REALLY mean is. "Please keep your sub running, while you buy our 300 dollar bracelets and try our other SQuare Enix games that we have been working on to "ATTACK YOU WITH" as Yoshi P so eloquently put. Because Square Enix is on the ATTACK! So much so that they cancelled their attack wave to "only focus on a few projects at a time, quality over quantity" Yoshi P is a weasel word merchant, the grand deflector and so is the new CEO, CEO most likely pulling strings on Yoshi, while Yoshi pulls us all on the strings. Never giving direct answers, it's always a sudoku puzzle to solve what they really mean.
Aside from the occational slip of "YEah, we didnt have the funds to do that, we dont have the resources to do that" tells a lot about where our money and the dev effort of 14 is going. Other projects, while they keep this on a low burner life support with a few new shiny jingly key things for the distant future. Dripfeeding things when they could just fix them now.
OP, are you ok?If they'd actually want you to take a break. The demo cycle would be 60 to 90 days.
