Celebrating Hats for Hrothgar and Viera

Kinda wondrous what they can pull off when the community is grumpy huh? Maybe we should be collectively more grumpy at them and we might get the friendlist fixed too?

So glad to be putting my money into other projects than the game I'm playing.

The fact people are celebrating hats for vieras and hrothgars, yet it's not even all of them, and it's not even fixed properly at all, they basically just clip through, and this took almost 6 years.

I am so glad. It may not be the perfect solution with minute details aside (there are some hats that clip through with the ears anyways) but I don't carrree (especially since its togglable! )it just means they will have to update everything else along with updating everything else more work for them (???) but I'm glad it's here.

Should you have them? Yes, you should have had them 6 years ago. Is it a pr distraction to placate a dissatisfied playerbase so they can continue to put out slop and the community will praise them for it? Also yes. Recognize the writing on the wall. Defending them in this case is exactly what they want to shrug off the growing player dissatisfaction.

If non Hroth Tail players can be happy when they get new gear despite clipping and still be allowed to complain I think Viera and Hroth have long earned the right to be happy and still criticize. We're just happy they've started at least for now. We've still got a road to travel.

It can't be because it's something h/v players have been begging for since shb, it's a "oh finally about freaking time".

I would have preferred if they showed on viera hats people actually use ever in glam like the calfskin hat or neoishgard hats, and would certainly have preferred a side-by-side video of a hrothgar and viera waking up in the inn, going to their glam dresser or retainers and being SHOCKED that oh my goodness, their hats finally fit. And it's like 20 minutes long showing every single hat they can wear from all angles.

But yknow. FINALLY, and thank god we don't get this news and have to wait til 8.0.

Now if only it were August next month instead of stupid July ugh.

You know its a pr distraction because they put zero effort in it for six years and now are only interested in doing it because the JP community is striking doing forked tower and its been a pr nightmare. Its a quick easy "dub" they can get and convince players they care. If they really cared they would have followed up on their promise they made before shadowbringers was released where yoshi p lied to our faces and said that hats were being worked on. This is 100% to slow or halt the rate of unsubscriptions as a result of occult crescent.

I'm far from defending them. I haven't forgotten about the 4 hairstyles fiasco when Hrothgar initially released. I'm just happy about finally getting hats, and unwilling to let that fact get overshadowed by their incompetence. Both things can be true at the same time.

Yeah, I was initially excited, but then I realized they were being wishy-washy with the news, and I wonder if it just means like the top 50 most popular hats have the new options. I wonder if the patch will have a full list of adjusted hats when it's out, too.
