Nobody wants this type of design but neither “side” is looking good here, the hardcore side understands that this needs communication but comes off as exclusive. The casual side wants the content to work in a way it simply doesn’t and comes off as selfish

That is why I said both sides need to cool their jets, from what I have read on here and the general vibe I am getting is that some folks started throwing around words like "leeches" "cartels" "entitled" and then it continues snowballing until you have both sides throwing around insults. I admit to being guilty of that myself.

Its why I said it only breeds animosity and both sides should handle this better.

But yes I fully agree with you there. Neither side is to blame on this matter, the only thing the playerbase can be blamed for is how they handled it and both the casuals and the hardcore players handled it terrible otherwise we wouldnt even have this thread.

I think part of why they addressed OC in the LL at all was because the JP DCs did exactly that a few days before the change iirc. It is also why the clear numbers are so low. But I could be wrong.

It also came to a head when a JP player was pulled into jail for trying to use the DRS Pf category to recruit for forked because it’s the only PF option that allows you to recruit 6 parties

But we also blame all the people who tell us "lol this content is braindead easy just get better and join a discord" and encourage hostility towards randoms because that is not helping either side.

I think this part is important, people are overblowing the difficulty in both directions.

You have people saying that the content is so hard that you need total coordination to even have a chance to clear or else you have people wiping left, right and center. And then you also have people saying the content is so easy that Johnny Twobuttons can clear the content as long as he listens to callouts and goes where he's ordered.

But the truth is actually in between, the content does require coordination, but it's possible to pull fresh prog players through a speed prog to a2c pretty quickly as long as they're not on a core role (can put them on phantom samurai or phantom cannoneer) and they have basic understanding of the content through a video or text guide. On the other hand, the content is also not so easy that you can go in with no preparation and expect to breeze through just because of a voice telling you where to go, there are fail states and an enrage exists, so you can't just go through the motions either.

Like surely the fights are not "that" tight that a single or two goofballs of 48 can ruin *everything* that this was a necessity? What if they never were selected for those mechanics in the first place and they could just handle things based on intuition?...

I know I'm reading the first replies in this megathread and likelyhood of you seeing this reply is small.

1st boss has a mechanic that can easily kill over half the people, if you have a stack and go to wrong side you sling people off the platform as these stacks fling you like m1 cat bosse's knock ups but stacks. People can try to run away from you, but that could look like intenttionally letting you die as a sniper who doesn't know the mechanics and thus were on the wrong side, so lose lose.

2nd boss has dps/healer spreads, and if you don't stack with correct people you have a chance to wipe half of players during a split mechanic that most likely will after wipe the rest cause of the cleaves happening 3 times + DPS check after that will fail even if you don't die to the cleaves.

2nd boss Snow ball can be failed by getting the stack and not streching it properly, killing everyone at the stack and making it impossible to kill the snowball as mechanic wasn't done proper

3rd boss baiting the boss cleaves before mechanics the wrong way can kill people as it's harder/impossible to dodge the following mechanics.

4th boss you can kill everyone if you don't place your targeted aoes correctly, as they effect the areas they touch and the battle area is divided to squares and off squares.

Plenty chances for a person with enough luck to win the lottery to get in to also win the "you're the target of the attack that can kill everyone". Yes they could also be lucky enough to not be targeted by any of them and not wipe the parties, but considering OP stood somewhere they could be killed with a TB I would hazard a guess they had 0 clue what to do.
(yes, it's a lottery not a put in more to get in 100%, based on their wording in the patchnotes, you just get more entries for the lottery for more chipers)

Well, I do enjoy locked instances where I can indeed do CEs solo, as the kill time is faster than when the instance is full. (don't do Calamity, doesn't scale down the body check)

Again, HOW DO I F* KNOW ? They could all be players just being around OC and waiting for the weather, don't blame me for their lack of communication, i didn't see a single message saying this was a premade, i was doing fates while waiting for the weather.
At first there was one of my teammates and 3 rdms on the platform, we just entered this instance and there were around 10 people in, then it shot up to 35 or smth in minutes, i do fates for a while then the right weather appear i tag to go in and discover the raid, it's as simple as that.
So whenever there are people in my instance ready to do the raid i don't go in ? What kind of logic is that ? IF they tried to actually communicate instead of going on a bullying spree i would have gone off the platform, you think i would throw away scrolls just for fun ? WTF

The original poster can't pretend they don't know anymore. There are 73 pages of us explaining that it requires too much organization and role assignment to just randomly enter it and potentially deprive the raid of a key role. Yes, the entry system should be better and SE should have designed this better, but that doesn't justify trying to sabotage runs.

I agree that it is ideal for a discord alliance to announce they are doing it either in /shout or at least at the entry point so that people are aware. I also agree that it is ideal for them to advertise the discord links to help players know they can sign up for a run, in case there are players that are unaware. But once you know it's mainly discord groups entering then you know that's how it works.
