Paladin needs some changes

Cover had plenty of uses, honestly if you genuinely think cover is a useless skill then you might be the problem here (no offence)

Cover is easily the best or second best (alongside deployment) unique utility in the game

Can you like name instances where cover has actually been useful for it's intended purpose in a fight? I haven't done anything recent so maybe its changed? but i highly doubt cover has a genuine use case that isn't already fulfilled by intervention.

Maybe it's not *literally* the way they expect you to handle busters, but if you're stupid like me and only realize your stance has been off the entire time up until the poor BLM is about to get blasted out of orbit by Valigarmanda, a well-timed Cover can save them (and your dignity) from sudden death.


I also like to use it when I notice we have a struggling sprout or, if we're about to eat a vuln stack and Cover can absorb it, I'll always choose a healer to save them from it. 2 vuln stacks is usually nothing for a tank, but a vuln stack on an already struggling healer can get spicy.


The difference between Cover and Intervention is that sometimes, unless you have the time to pop a Clemency and the Intervention on top, there is no way to save that player unless you eat that damage yourself. Often times, you won't even have the time to cast the Clemency in my experience so I always go straight for the Cover if I have it available.

So imagine sh!ts the fan and party is basicly about to wipe, you're ressed with weakness and your provoke is on cooldown. You cant grab aggro because of weakness.
Or damage towards healer is coming and they need to do lb3.

Thats just 2 scenarios from top of my head i can think of, and im not even playing paladin.

There are a lot of skills that are basicly useless when everyone is playing perfectly and you got a clean fight, or the fight itself is not challenging at all. Rphys does not have use for leg/foot/head graze in most content, melees dont need to press bloodbath if healer is present and at least halfway awake. However, just like cover, i dont see any reason to change those.

I can, it just happened a couple of minutes ago. I covered our VPR during Zelenia's double tankbuster because our MT suddenly got disconnected. That's one less death for the healers, who were already struggling because we had a few first timers.

Stop picking on Cover you guys, it's trying its best lmao. It's a niche skill yes, but extremely powerful in the right situations.
