Horrible idea. DC travel has already ruined PF raiding in every region. We don't need all of EU and NA trying to populate one DC just to raid. It would be even harder to raidWe all know Square has the technology to open DC travel to all regions, and they already did so with Oceania.
Recently, in gamescon, someone asked Yoshi-P when will he open travel between NA and EU, and he said he's waiting for the community to greenlight it. Here is the clip about it https://x.com/MysteriousRyan/status/1827803223970746441
It may come with its own issues such as language barriers and also the war between macros and waymark dance in PF. But we've already seen NA and EU players play together; and honestly, we both have similar gaming cultures overall.
Many players who reside in EU also play in NA because they have friends there and vice versa. People can travel too to different regions but may be hesitant to change their regions in XIV because they have already established themselves in a certain region.
So am making this post so we can give the greenlight for SE to open up travel between EU and NA.

This would not happen due to ping. It would purely benefit people who want to raid with a good ping but travel to visit friends or for RP.

People from NA and EU play in opposite regions frequently. You would still definitely have increased traffic to both of the main raiding DCs in each Region. Until they create a cross-DC party finder, allowing NA and EU to travel would just create more problems unless you have a static and can go to another DC to raid. Or they would have to restrict some DCs from cross-region travel

Yes, there would be significant traffic... both ways. But not of the scale of "everyone going to Aether and deserting EU", nor "everyone going to Light and deserting NA". That's not going to happen.People from NA and EU play in opposite regions frequently. You would still definitely have increased traffic to both of the main raiding DCs in each Region.
