14 has never had a social environment, hell people on here praise the removal of MMO design aspects every time
We have a “good community” because you can’t tell a cure 1 spammer to stop spamming cure 1 so we all pretend to be cute in game
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
The fact that the leet players can't get into the new savage as a coordinated group is absolutely related to the way SE implemented access to the tower. That the absurd method of entry fosters behaviour as the OP mentions, is no wonder either.
And please don't get me wrong. In my old days of raiding as much and as hard as I could, I would have acted exactly the same way as the group the OP talks about. When I spend hours and hours to set up a group for a fixed date, made sure that everybody is prepared in every possible way - I sure would not have tolerated some casuals stumbling into the raid to ruin all the preparations we did before.
Situations as the OP describes should never happen, especially not in a game like FF14. /end of discussion
