ppl communicating like its an actual MMO - partying up. I love it.

There's really no need to communicate in there though. The only time it feels like you're working together is when someone shouts for a raise somewhere. Outside of that you're just silently rolling around the map from one CE to the next in the murder ball. It's just a glorified hunt train, except in an actual hunt train there's at least enough time between marks for people to socialize.

I really hope in the next map they add more objectives that require people to coordinate. They did it in the Bozja raids there's no reason that sort of stuff can't be in the zone itself as well.

The fact it feels like it's required to join a discord group to do content is insane.

Finally find people at the entry for forked tower and you want to try it? Prepare for countless people spam telling you because it's a premade discord group going in *sigh*

(add on to that, received 54 tells in total from 18 people when i went semi-afk after putting a cipher in after arriving first, as an example from earlier today)

Did they start harassing you about it? I'm genuinely just curious to see how people get treated about this.

I had a friend who got inside along with two other random people. She just went up and submitted a cipher since that's what SE has said you had to do. While she had one nice person who tried to help her, she did get nasty messages from the others who were mad that she and the two others "stole" the spot from 3 people in "their" instance.

In regards to the OP, being in OC at least a lockout almost every night since launch, I got bored really easily. But I had low expectations it would be more than just another fate farm so I wasn't surprised at least. The time I did enjoy it was doing the entire questline before level 5, so I didn't have to worry about dying. I explored everywhere. I snuck up that tower past level 28 mobs at level 3 feeling like a ninja. I found all the survey records I could entirely on my own just exploring around. I play sage there so it wasn't like I was a non-squishy tank.

Then I finished the questline and started leveling jobs and just had to jump on the fate/CE grind. Most people in groups don't even talk. I tried the high level gold farming method after I had 5 jobs mastered. It was lucrative but the tank cheese method is just boring as well. I had hoped like I have since Bozja for daily and weekly missions and a longer questline. There is the challenge log but that doesn't last long. I was interested in working on Forked Tower when I first heard about it, until I heard about the entry process. So I'll end up skipping that like I skipped BA without some major changes. I'm leveling my jobs and collecting currency for things I want, but it's not really enjoyable. And of course there's one of my main complaints about any field content, being stuck in an instance with only the things in that instance to do and only the people in that instance to interact with. I leave the instance and I feel like I've been completely away from the game, because I basically have. I wish these were more like expansion zones we could do things in while waiting for a queue, and have our chocobos and minions running around with us. Make it feel more like a place from the game instead of feeling completely divorced and cut off from it.

Didn't like demiatma RNG, and when I voiced that opinion on reddit I had a ton of people dogpile on me with the old "u just mad you can't do it in one day", so now I'm actively bitter about it. That's more the fault of the players than the content, but either way I've fully checked out on the whole zone now.

I think the two kind of feed into one another.

Many players were gritting their teeth from DT launch to 7.2 having a lousy time, telling themselves they'd only keep going if Cosmic Explo and/or Occult Crescent were good.

They're not, of course.

Now those same players are confronted with the reality that the content requirements they set to keep playing have not been met.

And breaking up is hard to do.

Yeah - there was also (and still is), disappointingly, a lot of "I have cake, so you can't be hungry" where the matter of obtaining Atma is concerned.

Yesterday I’ve seen a rather uncomfortable exchanges in shout chat when there was this Person A who I recognized their name because they’ve been trying to get enough people to bid enough ciphers in friendly manner to open up the instance. They stated their reason to be “I just want to see the insides it doesn’t matter if we will get a clear or no”.

At some point, somebody… let’s say, Person B—chimes in to warn Person A that first boss will wall them because the existence of 24-man body check despite the entry minimum being set at 16. Nevertheless, Person A insists nicely that it’s fine. They just want to get inside. There’s no need for a clear, again. He asks this nicely, again.

From that point, the chat vibe took a 180° turn when Person B adds ”Alright then, well I guess goodluck inside and hoping to not get blacklisted by a full group ” while keep trying to drown Person A’s plea to get more people. Thankfully Person A didn’t seem to react negatively to that & later gave up when the FTB weather ends.

I think wanting to warn people about the mechanic walling them from a clear is a fair point, but everything else after that was pretty uncalled for. It’s giving off the “Hunt Train owns the A Ranks!!!”-rancid reek.
