Actually, with an observed drop rate of 20% the average amount of CEs needed is 90, so your suggestion of just asking for 100 would only be a bit more grinding than the average without the huge variance of RNG, so win-win I think.

It's been 3 years i'm playing Mihoyo games, they have a sub worth 5€, i've put like a sum of 30€ worth of subs and i got all the characters I wanted.
FF14 we get what? We pay 11-13€ to be afk in limsa to stay polite and then they make us pay to play with wuk lamat? are you joking?

I've subbed the Saturday before OC and then I unsubbed 3 days after OC because forked tower was handled very poorly, they are making me put money for this, this gotta be a joke.

You're the one who's trolling. Good for you if you're blessed by the RNGods, but the average gacha experience is people having to save for fucking months just so they have enough to pull (and guaranteed pity) if they're f2p or minor spender.

I've been heavily criticizing ff14 for having so little content updates while the waiting between patches are longer. But ff14 and gacha games aren't comparable. Let's not act like gacha event aren't 2-3 events with reused asset/fight that you need to redo daily for a month or so.

Meanwhile genshin and hsr I can play whenever I want for free, and the 5€ sub is plenty enough, you even have peoples that can get their favorite characters maxed constellation with just the subs, stop acting like the gachas games are unpullables crap, meanwhile ff14 they put in my face yet again with discord content

Because, technically, it's less effort in OC to get them.
Once you have a specific type you don't have to focus on fates (and CEs, though you should still do those for silver) in that area, and can chill out at base in between CEs or go find chests.
I also... Don't want to do normal fates anymore? I got the 10k fates achievement, and while I do farm fates every once in awhile for the bicolor gems, I don't particularly feel like doing that currently. (I have everything anyway so it would be just selling off the sugar glider mount things for gil)

The vertigris atma, I get the frustration though. Only from 3 fates (mudpie, Dehumidifier, and the pot fate with the tentacle eyes) and the Cloister Demon CE.

EW relics grind have done more damage than what we might have thought. People weren't complaining this much about the grind back in ShB, and that one was much more grindy than EW and DT grinds combined.

I'm starting to fully believe this. I wasn't playing when ARR was fresh but started playing during a HW patch. Some of these people wouldn't believe what had to be done for the anima on content. One step took me an entire month for just one.

Try again, ShB didn't have stupidly low rng for their fate drops. They were guaranteed drops, but nice seeing that the fallacy strawman that "people are mad because it's a grind" is still going strong I see.

1. People asked for relics to be grindy, including myself, because Endwalker's ones were not. This is good!

2. They are not even all that grindy. The droprate from CEs is 20%. On average, 5 CEs will get you an atma, and CEs spawn constantly.

3. You do not have to do it. Relic weapons are the exclusive priviledge of those willing to earn them. Endwalker was an exception to that, and people were not happy with it.

4. It's barely even been 2 weeks. This content is meant to be able to last months. Take your time - if you want (or don't, if you don't want, this is time-sink content).

Still the RNG is awful... it sucks. I took many days and overcapped tome AND other Atma. My wife took till yesterday to get her final atma... its not the grind, its the "maybe one day, maybe 100" that just breaks some. I did all the relics and the ARR one wasnt that much nerfed when i did t, but every time theres one step thats just... meh...

-It would already help if i could grind the tome and buy the Ore first, while grinding for atma... i wasted at least 2 weapons worth of em...


And grinding within the Zone at least helps leveling the jobs & gettin coins... doing it outside feels dumb to be unless i need one last very specific atma (like i did for my last one)

Then go play those gacha slop games instead of crying because you can't finish the relic in 2 weeks since the patch drop.

It is a one time thing to do and I recommend to do it in South Horn, you can even specify which ones you want to go for there if you just need 1 or 2 remaining, but just leveling the additional jobs, getting silver and more to build the armor and get items alone makes it worth it in there.

Also you can risk spending in normal DT areas 10 hours and maybe getting 1 or 2, so south horn it is.

I have a job, I did it casually, it went just fine, considering it is a one time thing you need to do, and even friends who play even more casually laid back than me has succeeded in finishing it off all in South Horn in moderately fast time.

Gacha games don't respect your time - You just optimize it to a level that eventually it ain't fun anymore once you hit a wall, then you have to wait for a week or more to get another shot at your rolls.
Or until you bring out the money.
