Mouse/Keyboard vs. Controller: Your Thoughts

Well yea, I doubt you would get many argue with you, but thats because the current UI and controls have been designed around controller first / kb/m second.

I think (more like hope) in 2.0 that will change a lot, obviously if you are a dedicated controller fan they should make sure they provide options for those that prefer that style, but for me personally PC games should almost always be played with kb/m.

Gamepad support is becoming more and more common for PC games, things are leading toward that direction. Keyboard setups will always have more functionality but nothing in FFXIV requires all of it. You can do everything you need to, aside from chat, on the gamepad.

I'll admit that I probably prefer gamepad because I grew up a console gamer. Never had a gaming computer until I bought my own so I'm very used to playing everything with the gamepad.

I've always been gamepad guy since FFXI. I was teh best healer that way too. Cycling party members using UP/DOWN on your D-Pad is way more efficient for me.

I recommend it to any new player I introduce, especially if they've played FFXII before, but I respect those that can play using the Keyboard/mouse.

My hopes is that in 2.0, both schemes will make even more sense to their respective audiences.

Well I'm not really arguing here, we should be allowed to use what we prefer at the end of the day.

I also grew up with consoles but that doesn't mean I don't see the advantage of keyboard and mouse, perhaps if you aren't used to it though it would seem a bit alien and unintuitive but like I say use what you feel is best.
