But you don't need to grind. You get them passively when levelling and levelling the other jobs. Why do you need the relic right now? I don't get it.

Patch came out on tuesday. It is now friday. I have my relic already in the first week. Where is the issue? In 4 days of about 15 hours gameplay you get your weapon. I just levelled to 20. Mastered 4 Jobs and had my relic. People complaining about getting Atmas of different colours need to realise the colour you get is based on the fate. So if you need a specific Atma just do fates in that zone. Fate trains are also running flat out in the normal world but I hear the drop rate is lower there, which makes sense as the fates are dying in around 25s each.

And I think people complaining about the people complaining about getting atmas of different colors they no longer require need to realize that the fact that CEs and FATEs in different sectors drop specific atmas is largely a moot point.

Nobody interested in levelling their knowledge level or phantom jobs at this point of the content is going to see a CE spawning in a sector they already have their 3 atmas in and say "I already have my atmas of that color from that area, I guess I'll skip that one." Everybody who is actively levelling in OC is following the train between CEs and the available FATEs. The way OC is designed, there usually is only one FATE active in the entire map at a time, and the same is true for CEs. A FATE and CE may overlap, but the vast majority of the zone will prioritize the CE and backtrack to the FATE if it's still there. Anyone who is paying attention or doing even the minimal research into OC knows by now that atmas drops a certain way in the Southern Horn by sectors; but that's largely irrelevant since at the end of the day you're at the mercy of RNG deciding to give you one whenever you finish a FATE or CE in the respective sector.

I'm not going to skip every other CE or FATE if I only have 1 type of atma left and they aren't spawning in one specific sector... I'm going to be following that train and getting silver coins and chunks of phantom job exp in the meantime while hoping to get an atma drop I need when I'm finally in the correct sector(s). But really, would it have killed the devs to implement some form of Bad Luck insurance where players could trade-in 3-5 of one type (or several) duplicate atmas for even just 1 of their choice?

This is what I think they should've added tbh - a bad luck proof. Hey who knows, maybe they will add that in the future.

My hope is that, if they do add some bad luck insurance/protection/proof system, they also add it to the Atma and Luminous Crystal phases as well (although the Luminous Crystals are largely painless, even for someone with atrocious luck like me), although, depending on how they add it to this step, it might not be able to be translated 1:1 to them.
