Wait, you're telling me that failing a mechanic nowadays means neither taking damage nor a debuff, just some mild roasts from your team mates?
Now that's some seriously good news. I can take some roasts easily - so savage raiding, here I come!
I always find it interesting that people who have not or cannot do certain content often claim that the people who can are bots, or are trying to be 'like' bots.
This inability to admit one is not capable is largely why many people fail at difficult content.
Honestly I started doing Extremes a few months ago and I feel like there's no real requirement other than 740 to start doing raiding other than the sheer interest and determination to watch a guide and practice in PF.
The last time I ran that fight with the NPCs Estinien and Alisaie repeatedly ate shit because they are greedy hot-heads. And in Trusts Estinien is constantly pulling trash packs ahead of me, the tank. It's actually really cool how they programmed the trust NPCs with some personality.
I don't actually think it would be a terrible thing to have trusts that could play Extremes. My only concern about that is the devs would have to design the Extremes to be playable by trusts, and that's limiting. The trusts do tend to solve mechanics for the player as well which isn't ideal. Especially when they solve the mechs in a way I wouldn't and then end up trying to kill me. Looking at you G'raha and Krile forcing me out of melee range.
If you could clear content with bots, how would the gatekeepers be able to maintain their self-esteem?
Now that the game is dying can we just have bots for all content?
You mean Trust.........In all seriousness, I'll bite.........
.....I don't think XIV is "Dying," merely coming back down to earth pre-WoW immigration.
Honestly, if you are familiar with botting mods for this game, you'd be certain the argument of "Trusts dumbing down the game" is bullshit, you can absolutely make a bot capable of identifying, solving, and executing any and all mechanics in games, this isn't even a FFXIV trait that "proves how bad the game is" unlike some seem to want to preach, TAS speedruns are a thing for this exact reason, maybe Trusts in the way that Square wants them, that is, visibly slower than the average player even at the best of times, but it objectively isn't a hard limitation when people have made bots capable of clearing Ultimates, and if you are making a bot to clear an EX and up, perhaps they outright shouldn't be objectively bad at the game.
The other points are valid, perhaps they could release Trusts not immediately, but like half a major patch later at X.X5, long after people have solved the mechanics, perhaps they wouldn't even have to wait that long, a week would be enough.
As I understand, Dynamis is much quieter in PF for raids and stuff. However, I've been in the process of unlocking mentor roulette, and I managed to get folks from PF to do all the Stb, Shb, and most of the EW part from Voidcast Dais Extreme on Aether's PF during the day and evening, my time.I'd be fine with it if they even just released the revised Trust version only at the end of an expansion/start of the new one.
The current thing I got stuck on was trying to do Stormblood EXs for the Triple Triad cards/first clears for Second Chance points, but some of them have mechanics that can't be soloed, or they require more damage than I'm capable of even when unsync. And finding people to do them unsync with is nigh-impossible when Dynamis doesn't have anyone around, and Aether/Primal/Crystal are full of veterans with zero incentive to go back and do content they may have done literally hundreds of times for their mount/gear back in the day.
Top that off with me logging in later in the day than most (9-10PM Pacific) and I find myself needing more solo options to make large swathes of the game playable (or doing them solo ends up painfully dull like Palace of the Dead and Eureka), and it's not even like the Triple Triad cards are going to let me break the game or anything, and I literally got every single Stormblood EX mount already JUST from mogtome events. Am I really stepping on anybody's toes over exclusivity at this point? They could even just keep the original EXs intact, the Trust version is just an alternate version with its own changed mechanics.
Hell, they should go back and do that with ALL the dungeons they revised for Duty Support/Trusts. Keep the originals that people preferred in the roulettes/queues/party finder, and put the NPC versions over in their own box, let everyone play it how they want instead of one side getting dragged along with the other. I just want an OPTION, but I don't want to take away somebody else's choice!
For StB, even 1 person who joined my party, we were able to clear all of them in 2 sessions, so perhaps you can try on weekends if you have them off too.
I'm not at all familiar with botting mods for this game. I am familiar with Trusts, which is, yes, slower than the average player and have programmed quirks that make mistakes. So...yes, it is a limitation on the game, because why in the bloody hell would SE make bots to play with people that were made anything like those kind of bots you're talking about?
