    PvP/PvE layout suggestion

This stuff blocks my HP bar in PvP and PvE

Is there a way to move them in layout? I think not.

Also, enemy HP bar blocking sometimes the player HP bar.

    sometimes not

I think it depends how close they are to the camera etc. but it just very bad for PvP. The standard client should be able to show this properly...To always show the player HP bar as priority above anything else.

Map is super important in frontline too. There is the option to force lock it, but it can still be removed too easily with controller unintentionally, or by pressing ESC on PC too often (for de-targeting), idk?

I would prefer it being a UI Layout element that can be turned on/off completely.
Similar how CrystalConflict or DeepDungeons have their own map...

Players often don't have the normal map often, just the minimap. Making gameplay more sluggish and uncoordinated than it needs to be.

    Quality of life...

Yeah I've died more than I'd like to admit because of the exact same problem with the text in the middle hiding my HP bars above my name. I don't always stay glued to the actual HP/MP UI element and I don't want to move this one right in the middle of the screen so that it hides everything else.

Definitely in favor of more options to customize the UI.

For this specific thing of pop-up text obscuring your HP, you both must be using a really low camera angle. I set mine at 80 degrees or higher so I'm at the bottom of the screen and can see more in front of me.

That you'd need a specific camera angle to be better able to see a crucial part of the UI is just nuts. I also rely on that health bar way more than the standard one, the standard one just doesn't grab my attention as much and aye, I don't want to shift it closer to the middle of the screen. The overhead health bar is adequate, would that it actually displayed in all logical circumstances. Why that continues to be a thing is just mystifying.

Would be nice to have a map with a more translucent background for FL too, yep. No matter how tucked away it is I still find it takes too much presence on the screen than it needs to. I don't need to see the ye olde immersive map look in PvP thx.

This is maybe more a me issue, but imo the icon to represent where the crystal is in CC on the UI is not attention-grabby enough. I do find myself straining my eyes to look where it is when it's not in immediate sight, mostly when tired.

Can you not alter the opacity of the map?

I leave mine on 0 transparency but place it over the mini-map and half off screen so it takes up as little space as possible but still gives a good overview o the situation.

I was sitting at 66, I think for questing reasons so whenever I wanted to zoom in a little the camera wasn't literally stuck in the mud having my character taking all the screen.
Above 70-75 the feet of your character start merging with the bottom of the screen which makes it a really bad thing to do for anything pve or pvp due to character positioning, if you can't see where you stand clearly or if it outright disappears from the screen.
So i'm still trying to fiddle with this, guess I'll try a neutral 50 and see how it goes.

Yeah there are compromises and it'd clearly be better if we could switch the UI around.

Have to say I've never had any issues with my feet disappearing, and I've experimented with 90 degree camera. But that's likely because along with the high camera position I also tend to view from a high angle and at maximum zoom out (unless I'm playing tank/melee and zoom in occasionally for targeting reasons). I don't raid - it might be more of an issue there.

Yeah that is why I put the green bar above my skills, and the skills to the bottom.

The health bar (over your character model) is (sadly) already a bad way to track HP in rare cases. It is obviously way more convenient, and I would ideally like to use it in all cases.

In a rare case it can happen that your overhead HP values are like at 10% - even though you have been healed to 70% if you would look at actual HP values in the default green bar at the bottom of your screen.
Same way the party HUD HP bar isn't always in sync with the values it shows - it can show 90% full while the player is at 5%. (think of mechanics that drop player HP to 1, happens often there)
Especially annoying in PvE, when there is a raidwide and you rely on the full bars to determine to heal or not to heal. You can't, you have to rely on the still correct numbers that are shown instead of the bar animation.
Ironically if you target such a player, the target bar will have the correct HP information again.

So TL: DR - everything that is red can lie to you, everything that is green doesn't lie to you.

It is messy. I guess this is all oldbacked 1.0 tomato code, that it is not a synced value accross all HUD elements - so I am like really only asking if they can let us move the duty element to whereever we want at least. Some people do not use mods after all... we want the base game to not block our HP bars. I have a high camera angle? I would say - I think it is a better overview.

Regarding the map, I believe it is better on PC. Because the map key is like its own button. On controller you often have to press circle (cancel) and square (map key), also accidentally. It says it locks, but you can still remove it by some button combinations (that I haven't checked too much yet, I guess its pressing circle too often, or going main menu). For it to really work it shouldn't be possible, only clicking the lock again should unlock it...
I think the adjusted zoom/ map center seems to reset too, depending on map, making any previous changes you did meaningless. Either bc zone change or relog, I forgot.

And yeah, I died to it too a few times, simply because I was standing in aoe dmg, miles away, and didn't notice my HP dropping when nobody really was attacking me. And when it happens to me and you, it will happen to lot more casual players too I would guess...

I am max zoomed out when I play any kind of pve or pvp, and above 75 my feet are already leeching the edge. At 100 the spot where my character stands is either past the border or literally on top of it. Which is a no no. And even if, it would still ask my eyes to keep moving down there all the time and that's not good either. There is a reason all the most important info has to be close enough to where you're looking at most times. If I have to constantly go back and forth between my feet and where I'm going + my UI, it's a surefire way to disaster.

Interesting, this may be a PC/controller difference? Like I use fairly small hotbars that are yanked right to the bottom of the screen and shift the XP bar out the way. I checked and at 90 degree camera setting and max zoom out my feet are clear of the hotbars.

A related point: SE could do a better job of both the CC and FL default UI settings being more usable. New players have enough going on without a default UI that obscures/fails to highlight key information.
