Burmecians: The race we will never get.

I've been a huge supporter for Burmecians since the beginning! Freya has been one of my fave all time characters from the FF series and they would fit in so well with the XIV franchise tbh.

Yoshi says a lot of things, and honestly I think much of his sarcasm is lost in translation - no shade to the translation team they do an incredible job! He also has made so many promises with things he wouldn't do in the game then goes back on them within months (some for better others for worse). I'll always hold out hope for this race.

However, if they were to add a truly final race I would hope it would be something to compete with Lalafell. We have lots of tall races (Elezen, Viera F, Hrothgar, Roe, Aura M, Highlander to a degree). We also have a healthy amount of medium races (Hyur, Miqote, Aura F, Viera M). Yet, we only have 1 small race - the Lala.

As much as I really hope for our beautiful rat lady, I hope even more so for a Moomba, Lilty, or even an original XIV race.

Hopefully after Yoshi gets some rest from XVI release he'll have a change of heart for 9.0/10.0!

If the staff ever felt like changing their minds on adding a new race or two someday, I've been longing so much for Burmecians, especially because of the connections in Dawntrail that I won't spoil. I'd find it weirder at this point if they don't exist in the Source or Reflections somewhere at least as NPCs.

I understand a lot better now why it's such a big job that isn't feasible anymore besides them slowly finishing Viera and Hrothgar, but I still hope one day, maybe after that's done, they might feel like it again, even if I know very understandably that this might not happen. I'd be indebted to them for it if it ever did happen. I'm already super thankful and appreciative to the team for all the hard work on existing races added, including the last two they're still finishing and filling out. I know that's a monumental amount of work that can't be asked for on a whim.

But I can still dream.

Edit: Dang, I didn't realize this was a necro. It came up as the top result in a search, I thought it was new because I hadn't seen it before. (I'd seen a different thread about Burmecians being asked for.)

Im more on no more races or jobs and just focus on what we have. It seems that the more we get the less we get overall.

Would make for a nice additional short race. Lalafells can't stay the only short kings forever. :3

I think Burmecians would be a neat race to have, but it would be implemented terribly
FFXIV doesn't have the best track record with beast-like races

Not to say I'm against the idea, I just don't think SE would handle it well if they did go through with it
Before any new races though, I think an overhaul to character creation and giving players more options would be nice, once they finish with the graphics update

Freya Crescent and her mouse/rat people were great in FF9. They'd have made a good addition to the game, but it won't happen because CSIII as I understand haven't yet even made helmets usable by Hrothgar and Viera Rabbits, or in most cases with head pieces. I don't think they could borrow another race's model/rigging, thousands of armour would have to be edited for them and mocap made.

Bit much for CSIII to handle. I just had the glamour dresser randomly delete a paid store item (a bug as it followed no logic or standard in-game mechanic at all) and was told it's "working as intended". I think CSIII are struggling with this game perhaps, a new race would be a bad idea (though I'd love to play as a Burmecian).

For now I'll just look at the Qiqirn as budget Burmecians.

Not gonna lie, I'd fantasia if Burmercian become a playable race. Bangaa from FFXII would also be on my wishlist, along with Moombas/Shumi from FFVIII. I feel like the aesthetics would be nicer with more beast-like races.
