Warning, dye information deleted by the glamour dresser is "working as intended"

Footage of gear placed in glamour dresser losing dye: https://drive.proton.me/urls/XVTETJVST8#0RNRKh1vHpEV

I posted what appeared to be a bug, as it made no sense and does not follow any logic. Whereby the glamour dresser deleted dye information from the Anemos Chivalrous Sollerets when placed in the glamour dresser with materia, but does not do this for any other gear I've placed in the glamour dresser.

I tested this with Patrician's Bottoms straight after in fact that had materia attached, and it's dye information did not delete. SE are saying this is the game working as intended.

That's rather poor game design which makes no sense, and was not explained in the caption prior to putting the item in the dresser (materia, spiritbond, company crest and aetherial bonuses are only mentioned as being removed, the same caption shown when any other gear which does not lose dye information is placed in the dresser).

Why is this Eureka piece an exception to the rule, and why is it not mentioned that it will lose dye? I'd like my store bought dye back.

Update: Yesterday other than the recorded footage of the bug, I was able to replicate it. Today I haven't been able to replicate it. So the glamour dresser randomly deleting dye information one day without warning - but not the next day under the same conditions, is as intended. I won't be buying anything from the store again, this doesn't instill any confidence.

Update 2: Though SE don't seem concerned with paid items being deleted at random, an awesome player offered me the dyes that the dresser gobbled up and then some. I won't say their name in case they like their privacy, but thanks again, that made my day.

This happened to me just after Dawntrail came out with the VPR weapon Sargatanas, but I assumed it got fixed since I hadn't seen the issue since. I don't recall whether there was materia on my weapon back then but it stripped the dye upon placing it in the dresser twice, seemingly at random.

Hope this gets solved. In the mean time, you can avoid this issue by dyeing the item from within the glamour dresser. Not in an individual plate, but from the list of items in the dresser.
    Bring back 6.0 Dragoon.

Nah, its a bug they just refuse to acknowledge or fix so they slap "working as intended" on it to avoid doing a bit of work.

I bet if dye resetting happens on their newest Cash Shop outfit or a piece of it it would be addressed and fixed asap.

Maybe they got confused between the Armoire and Glamour Dresser. Which is a problem SE has created in the first place - really the Armoire could be merged into the Glamour Dresser and just make anything with the Armoire icon not cost slots or prisms. Moving the data over just involves database conversation scripts, a normal thing when migrating from one system to another, or it can be done on login or when entering the Inn.

The why is something I find really interesting for some reason. I tried with a dyed but unused piece of Aglaia gear I had rotting in a retainer's inventory and it maintained its dye(Abyssal Blue) both in the dresser and after being removed, and I just tried it again with a dyed piece of Anemos gear(Anemos Myochin Haori, Snow White in first channel, empty second channel, it's been so long that I can't remember whether or not I ever actually used it) I had on a mannequin and it also maintained its dye after being put in the dresser and after being removed. The OP is obviously not a liar because they have video evidence, so it's very strange.

It was the glamour dresser on the left (it's recorded in the link) but I have heard the Armoire doesn't save data, it is a bit of an odd addition the Armoire.

Thank you, I'll dye them in the dresser in future. I was unsure if dying in the dresser would be permanent so would remove them first (I know on glamour plates the gear as saved there is it's own separate entity including if dyed and won't save if restored to inventory)

It does in some form. Otherwise, you would not see the items in there. They are treated sort of like being "purchasable" but it's absolutely enough information to migrate the data with if they wanted to.
