Careful, if you complain about how bad Cosmic Explorations is for fishers and other gatherers, you'll get the white knight brigade come in and start to gaslight you that the problem is you, not the content, because crafters have it so easy.

It is very frustrating especially when RNG troll you hard, and it seem to give less reward compared to to DoH as well.

thats funny. because i started with botanist followed by fisher and thought its very easy.... not talking about rank a quests though.

today i tried a crafter. its not comparable. i just had a ragequit (my first ever in ff14) because from the very first rank D mission its super annoying... red alert missions too

wtf is with this difference between crafter and gatherer difficulty? i dont use high end gear but still its lvl 100 gear for gatherer and crafter too.

I think the biggest problem with cosmic fishing is that it almost never rewards gambling with your GP to run double or triple hook. Besides those few missions that want you to catch like 30 fish and there is one fish in the rotation that gives you like 11 from triple hook both actions never really work on any fish you want them to work on and if you gamble wrong you’ve basically wasted your entire GP bar

Everything else is a puzzle I do like solving, that one mission where you have to get the message from using modest lure but even if you get the message it doesn’t guarantee the fish can be frustrating but I get they also make the message super common to counteract this

Other than that, I'm not sure how to help you. Would need you to provide more details about which skills appear to be broken.

As others have mentioned, Double and Triple Hook might seem like they don't work but this is normal. All fish in the game have unique caps on how many total fish you get via these actions. For most it is 2-3, but some are special and give 4-7. Within Cosmic Exploration, nearly every fish is limited to 1 to limit the number of points you can acquire towards the mission's goal, but there are some missions which have special fish that you can hit those 2-3 or 4-7 numbers on. Like fishing everywhere else in the game, you'd need to experiment yourself to figure this out, which is why I recommend joining the discord if you'd like to have access to the community's knowledge bank of fishing data.

As always with fishing, it will be a lot easier once someone else has published a catalogue of all the quests, their respective fish, and how to catch them.

In regards to the double/triple hook thing, while I'm sure it's a fascinating design choice for hardcore fishers, for anyone just wanting to max out their rod it's not worth spending 400GP to find out it doesn't work.
