Your reading must be very selective.
So a few people complaining on a forum, confronted by just as many telling them to chill, means that "the english community" is "very disappointed and frustrated"?
I'd have you notice a very simple detail: you != the english community.
And no, quite evidently the "Japanese players" have very little problems with it. They know that seasonal events take very little development resources, just as much as I know that if they completely did away with seasonal events many between the same people that seem to enjoy spreading doom and gloom would just complain about how the game is now dead because "they don't even have an event for easter".
There's quite a vast majority arguing against SP death penalty, and the same people posting multiple times arguing for it. Looks like some really cannot let go that antiquate and surpassed mechanic. Just like in our forum, mind you.

Abriael, take your own advice. You often say that you!= the majority and that's also applied to you. Death penalty being antiquate and surpassed is just your opinion. Some share it, some are against it. The same way as you!= the majority, the forum != the majority of the players. Actually, the majority is often silent. Unless you can get everyone to post and give their opinions, the only thing you have is the people who share their opinions. Apparently the death penalty thing get opinions from both side, it's up to SE to decide what to do with those feedback.Your reading must be very selective.

We're talking about people posting in a single thread, in which the majority can be easily assessed just by reading. I'm sure you won't find a single post in which I talk for "the marjority" of gamers, or the players of this game.Abriael, take your own advice. Also, the majority of game developers can be easily assessed, as most of the MMORPGs released (and to be released) lately and in the near future don't feature any kind of experience-based death penalty.
Guess why?

Lol seriously? I don't know why I find a thread complaining about the amount of threads funny. Probably cause it seems counter-productive. Oh well.
And anyway the fact is, there will always be some one around that complains.
My bad, I misread your first post and I think you misread Kaedan post. In his post he's saying there's people on both side about death penalty(he never mention sp loss). To that you answered that the majority was against sp loss in case of death(which isn't what he mentioned). Since you were replying to his post, I misread and assumed you were saying the majority is against death penalty(any kind of penalty). But since you specifically wrote "SP death penalty" I have to agree with you.We're talking about people posting in a single thread, in which the majority can be easily assessed just by reading. Death Penalty = Loss of Guardian Favor. >.>
I fully agree with this.
There is lots of new mechanics and other stuff being worked on, for the next update (this is the needed prep update). Considering situations we are just lucky to even have updates much less a game to play. I appreciate all of their hard work in thick and thin and dedication to the fans of FFXIV.
Thanks much.
Every day that passes makes me believe a bit more Yoshida is nothing but a huge publicity stunt and Tanaka is doing sepuku in the background while giving orders to retreat everything he did up till now.
@Kaedan
Thanks for translating/summarizing, sir.
it is much appreciated![]()
