Many, including myself—at some point had been deconditioned into thinking that crafting being mostly ‘just find macro lol no need to think 100% HQ ez stuff’. I’ve met my fair share of folks who actually never knew the existence of some actions like the Prudents, Careful Synth, and Observe(!!) in this CE it’s a bit disconcerting. What about the 50%-60% proc rate actions? ”No way, they’re scary & cannot be macro’d!! Anything that’s not 100% is a sin!!” … yeah :shrug:

Class B missions don't give the Rank IV research exp needed to complete the last stages of the relics.

This is unfortunately accurate. Up until now, crafting has always warranted maximizing efficiency due to the quantity of crafts(food and pots being the big one) and also maximizing success rate due to how pricey the materials are. Specialist actions like Observe also fall to the wayside due to the three-per-week limit for swapping Specialist and the requirement of a Crafter's Delineation per action. It really isn't too different from the battle content in that regard, everyone is focused too heavily on blitzing through it all in the quickest, cheapest, least invested manner possible.
